.: Week 1 and it feels like the holidays still! :.

Week 1 of my 'A' Level year just went past! full of undone tutorials and early mornings! I miss the school holidays! It was so fun and relaxing. Although there was like the stressful band meetings and practices, it was nevertheless enjoyable! DARN! The past 5 days have just been days to tune me back into the 'I should study' mode! One thing good however, is the reuniting of the ever wonderful class of mine - 08S64. Going to make this year more fun that last yah!!! :D

Went to ikea with gillian to get some band stuff and travelled all the way to town to meet my mum and brother for shopping! I rarely shop with my parents for my own personal things but this time with my mum and brother, it was shopping like never before. Bought a shorts from this VOL.TA shop just now. Looks like my 45 mins train ride all the way down was not wasted! It was enjoyable because I did not have to pay at all! :D

CNY is coming and every fortune thingy or whateve you call those things that predict what's going to be good and bad etc. for the year says that those born of 'goat' are going to have a REAL bumby road this year like financially, problems blablabla... Hope it's not THAT THAT accurate!

.: HELLO 2009... what a late post! :.

it's been long since I updated! haha! 2009 has come, 2008 has past. The year full of outings, late band practices, countless trips to parkway and marina square, most number of sleepovers I had in a year (6?), great concerts, New York Trip, Esplanade performance, quartet performance, sleeping in lectures, piles of homework, first time failing one subject, stressful exam days, chinese A level, EXCO member in band, unglam moments, feeling fab day etc. ALL IN VICTORIA JUNIOR COLLEGE! What a year has passed and I just can't believe how time flies! Would 2009 be as eventful and fun amidst all the stress and school work? I just can't wait to see! Hopefully yes because this year would be SYF '09, OGL, 'A' Levels and all!

Past week have been busy practicing for SYF in band! Choice piece is so technically and musically difficult! Practice, practice, practice!

School's going to resume tomorrow... am i excited? DEFINITELY! just saw my timetable and I end lessons at like latest 3.05pm on one day only! That would be the best news of the start of school term since last year I had lessons till like 5plus which totally sucked! However, i've not completed my homework and hopefully, I won't get scolded :P

ALL THE BEST TO ALL 2008 'O' LEVEL STUDENTS! Hope you guys would get what you want and enjoy your day!!! (I remembered I was able to sleep soundly the night before my results were released... weird)

.: Post NSSN! :.

Merry Christmas all! okay this post came abit late for christmas wishes! anyway, as the title suggests, its time for post NSSN updates! NSSN has passed but not the activities and outings! had NSSN chalet last week. BBQ, picture taking, cycling and cards! These are the events going on during the chalet! Almost all at the chalet, about 30+ of us went for midnight cycling - an experience to be memorable and to some, ugly! Cycled from East Coast Park to Changi Village at 12midnight! Verntured out and to only come back at 5-6am! The whole cycling route was like super far and at some points, it just felt that we were cycling with no direction, on and on until some road came into sight! Despite the butt-aches and cramps most of us had, it was fun and memorable! haha! Talked alot with some J1s and we were talking about really funny stuff with code names.

Then we had NSSN outing again on 26th Decemeber where the band, about 50 of us went to vivo to watch 'Bedtime stories'. We basically occupied 5 rows and of course, booked the tickets beforehand. Suddenly felt like being at New York City because there was some sort of plan. Like shopping in your sections from 1-3pm then meet at rooftop and we head onto movies. After movie was dinner where all of us randomly bought food and met at the rooftop to eat together. Ended off with playing games like 'chop chilli chop' and 'whacko' etc where we became rather AA because everyone seems to be looking at us!!! Nevertheless, it was fun! :D

.: A SPLENDID birthday!!! :.

This year has been a wonderful year! and my birthday celebration is at its maximum! Thank you guys!!! EVERYONE that celebrated my birthday with me, made and gave me presents and sang for me birthday songs! not to forget, those who wished me 'happy birthday' like at 12midnight, different timings of the day and at the last hour of the day... ohoh! and those who exceeded and wished me 'belated birthday'! all of it would be remembered and THANK YOU GUYS! :D

Thank you VJCSB for giving Yanzhu and I a surprise by bringing out that secret recipe cake, singing us the birthday song at the chalet! That's like 40+ of you! haha! Anyway, thanks everyone especially melanie and those who made the effort to get the cake and setting it up! Thank you my wonderful horn section for getting me that box of shirt, card, photo and my most wanted MOUTHPIECE CASE! now i can save money getting what I have been wanting to get for like 4 years!!! Thank you all the Sec4s who got me things like clarise, springfield, roslyn, (your cologne smells greats!), matthias, samuel, (your zi lian package rocks!), ignatius, christopher, joshua, leeguan for that nicely drawn shoe! and also yanyao for your wonderful, sincere and full of thought and effort present! THANK YOU GUYS!

Next, Thank You 08S64-ians too! Going for movies, having the surprise birthday cake and all and finally ending off at Liu Kun's house playing mahjong, pool and foolsball was a great day! Thank you arthur, buddy, krystal, jason for your wonderful presents! Alyssa too! although you're like in Paris now, your the first one to give me my present which is also like the nicest of all, on NSSN day! THANKS! Not forgetting, liukun, lydia, jianwei, patrick, changhong for joining us in the celebration! not to forget all you guys who wished me and apologized for not coming down! haha!

Dinner at Parks Hotel in Orchard Road made my birthday much more lavish and splendid! Buffet with family on a birthday is anyway, always a custom but this one was great cause of the atmosphere! So nice!!!

Sentosa outing yesterday with Xiangyi, Elizabeth, Carin and Xiangluan where Ms Elizabeth made me a super nice board with pictures! Thank you Very much! anyway, one thing was that we went to sectosa to get tanned but didn't get tanned actually! SO IRRITATING!

Anyway, thank you each and everyone of you who wished me, sang birthday song for me, gave me presents and wrote on my facebook wall! Thank you! Year 2008's birthday of mine has been most memorable thus far! Thank you GUYS!

.: Not So Silent Night 2008 :.

I finally have the time to blog and be sure this is going to be a super long but meaningful post! NSSN '08 was a blast! Now that it's over, it feels empty all of a sudden! All the hard work the EXCO + TAE + J1s + Sec 4s + Teachers and Mr Tan have put in the past 1 month plus concluded on the night of 12th December 2008!

The preparation was intense! EXCO spending a few hours talking about what we need to include and the delegation of jobs and all! Thank you EXCO for being so co-operative with helping me in the task I’m being delegated to do! Working with Gabriel, Gillian, Alyssa, Sean and RouHui on a major project like this for the first time was really great. This EXCO is filled with so many talented people, natural leaders and great thinkers!

And for the first time in my band life, I was so busy during a concert. This concert was not just practicing my instrument, playing the music! Half the time I was in school was not because of band practice but because of all the admin stuff I had to do in preparation for the concert. At home, switching on my computer = typing our deadlines and reports! Ticketing was such a stressful YET super fun thing to do! Being in charge of all the ticketing, money and receipts is what a treasurer should do! Sometimes it gets so messy that I would just stand there and try to calm myself down! Dealing with thousands in cash is no small deal!!! But I would not be able to achieve the full house and overflowing, crashing audience without the help of the J1s and Sec 4s who helped to sell the tickets so willingly (although they gave me a heart attack when ticket sales were only like 16% 3 weeks before the concert!) haha! And not to forget my ticketing committee – Shu Han, Hidhir and Amelia! Although 2 of them were in TAE, busy with their skit practice, they still willingly helped me out! And Shuhan who went without lunch with me for a few occasions! Thank you guys!!! This is an experience not to be forgotten! Majestia next year would be no different! The feeling of members sms-ing me in the morning of 12th December, our concert day, to ask if there was any more tickets left and I had to say no was great! Because I know it was full house to the max! Also, the gifts committee who came up with really super nice gifts! Thanks for following the deadlines set and coming up with so much nice presents! With all your hard work and effort, I believe the teachers, Mr Tan and Dr Goh are happy with the gifts!

NSSN and the skit was fun! Although the skit just involved me doing 2 dances, and comments were that it was hilarious and I can’t dance, BUT NEVERMIND! Haha! Because the super long hours and many days we took practicing the skit, perfecting the scenes and making the dance look great was all memorable! At least I entertained which is the main point! Even if getting people to laugh would entertain them than I have played my part in the skit! However, dancing with Yanzhu was great! This dance partner of mine always never fails to want to make us great couple dancers and would always practice the steps we’re not really sure of! Not being able to grasp our hands properly and all! Haha! Waltz was like so super super fun! Lifting her was not difficult but when they video and how us! Omgosh I can’t believe we can do it until so nice! At leat we had fun!!! And TAE worked like a whole lot for the skit so kudos to TAE!

The Secondary 4s were a great bunch of people! What would NSSN be without them seriously! Although it has only been like 1 month, but I feel that the whole band has bonded together with the Sec 4s and that we are really starting to feel the post NSSN feeling – the missing of people, missing of band practices and skit practices and all! We wish that all the Sec 4s would come back to VJC!!!

My horn section!!! Elton, Estee, Stephanie, Ridha, Peter. These 5 Sec 4s were really different! Have the one who always suan people but is a pro player, one that is really enthusiastic, one that is quiet but bites when he talks (oops) and 2 girls who are really quiet! So much colour in the section right! The 4 quartet J1s horn seniors, us, of course got interactive with them and kept talking to them! And we 4 got closer too! I love my horn section! Thinking of all the stupid names like ‘Eston’ haha and the stupid moves for our encore, Copacabana! It was so much fun!

The biggest part of NSSN I would really miss is late nights we’ve had at burger king, parkway etc! The NSSN week was really hectic. Reaching school at 8am everyday, having no lunch because of ticketing, practicing pieces in the morning followed by skit in the noon and than heading to parkway for dinner and gossip and talking and buying gifts and all only to finally reach home at 10plus pm! I guess that’s when we all bonded together as a band, as a happy family! It was so much fun! All the laughter resonated at burger king and staying there for hours must have made the workers like remember us! KFC even switched off some of their lights to chase us out when it was too late! Lol!

NSSN night itself was a blast! It sure is! How we played through the pieces happiness and sadness, how we acted out the entire skit, how we totally choreographed our moves for Copacabana which was totally messy but fun and how we dedicated the video and song for Mr Tan! It was a night full of emotions! To make it better, receiving all the flowers and chocolates and potato chips and famous amos and gifts from friends was just a happy feeling! Thank you all those who came and all who gave presents – 08S64 peeps, Elizabeth, gino, Yvonne, xiangluan, Rachel, xiaowei, my horn section, jiajiun, Chun yuen, Darren, Lorraine, lixin, Samuel, Nicholas huang, Nicholas chew and Kenneth, Aloysius, shanhui, liling and anyone else I missed out! Really thank you guys! Hope you all had a fun and memorable concert! Thanks for all the j2s coming to support too! :)

With all said, NSSN would be an event I would never forget! Not just that night but the entire process of making NSSN a success! Post NSSN activities coming up! Can’t wait for them! As usual, pictures up the next post! Which is very soon!

.: First week of holidays! :.

08S64 class chalet was on Monday and Tuesday. Held it at some bungalow in Pasir Ris Park and it is only $85 for 2 days 1 night. It has 4 rooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, own BBQ pit bla bla bla and is really well furnished! I think it is a great deal! The only bad thing is that it is in a rather remote section of Pasir Ris Park so might be difficult to locate and all! However, its just a class chalet thus so long as anyone who needs to be there is there, then everythings fine! Anyway, had a blast at the chalet too! This is probably the first time we as a class stayed over together and 21 out of 25 of us turned up! So it was fantabulous and great! We all rented bicycles overnight and did midnight cycling and all. Cycled to downtown east at 12 plus and literally sneaked into E Hub and sat on the floors of the quiet mall only to be chased out by some security guard who is probably working midnight! Had a great laugh though. Haha. Chalet was fun! Almost all of us stayed over too and we even played blind mice in a really small room (the guys) and it was just much laughter etc. It was like having orientation all over again with all the singing, dancing etc we need in such a carefree way! Pictures would be up soon!

Band had really officially started and there are so many things to settle! But what can one ask for if you want a full-house and present a great, memorable and a fun performance! So whoever wants to come for VJC's concert, do contact me! haha!

Next year's orientation is sounding fun! Been selected to be a Orientation Group Leader (OGL) where I heard orientation is going to be 7 days next year for the freshmen. Which also translates to 7 days of no lessons for the OGLs and 7 days of fun and games everywhere in Singapore! haha! Victoria Junior College's freshmen are going to have a blast next year!

It's so funny how almost 1 year is going to be over and it's going to be one year since I left BV and been in VJC! So many adjectives to describe what I'm feeling now. What a roller-coaster ride. Okay, i think this post sounds rather not-here-not-there. Probably because I don't know what to write so, Pardon me!

.: Holidays... not :.

Holidays are 'here'. okay not so. VJ's holiday started like 2 weeks ago but the chinese 'A' level students had to go back to school to have like chinese intensive for 2hours everyday. No doubt I really do miss my chinese class after the paper on Thursday but anyway, leaving Zhang laoshi was the most sad thing I would say for all 6 of us. Although some of us didn't like chinese, we still enjoyed chinese lessons because of all the stories, life experiences, teasing (yah... we tease our teacher about her likes for wuzun and all while she teases us back about random stuff) etc. It was so much fun. My most enjoyable time in VJC curriculum has definitely have to be in Chinese lessons! Always having so much laughter and crapping session. There was this time that she was telling us about how her son emailed her from overseas an essay in chinese which he wrote. She was saying how proud she is and we were like 'are you sure it's good?' and she went (in chinese) 'his chinese anytime also can win you 6!' lol. She just suaned us on the spot... that was what we all said but we all broke into laughter when she said that. But she's just a great and funny teacher. To give is that motivation and confidence boost, she actually called all 6 of us individually on the night before our 'A' Level paper just to wish us all the best and to remind us of all our flaws! Telling us to sleep early and just do out best. How great a teacher is she? Chinese was fun! Going to miss the chinese lesson but not the subject :D Being the Chinese Rep was fun!

Anyway, the 'A' Level Chinese paper was freaking hard! Like detastably difficult! Through the 2nd passage, I thought I was doing the wrong paper. I could not get the answers at all because all of them are so close and half the time I was guessing and hoping for the best. We'll see how it goes....

Project Work... some major revamps to slides yesterday. The thought of PW coming to an end soon is Bitter-Sweet. Bitter because I really enjoy working with the other 4 in my group although sometimes I would get irritated but yah... we've had our fair share of laughter and slacking periods! That is why no londer having group meetings and playing cards etc. is sad. However, sweet because the thought of no longer having to edit, edit and edit, passing up drafts, and chasing for work is great. My project is about corals and sure I have gained a mountain load of insight on restoration of corals now!

I heard over the radio 2 days ago on a discussion with teenagers on 'what is a holiday to you?' That's something I suppose everyone has an opinion towards. even the most geeky and nerdy student would say that his holidays are not holidays because he is just burrying himself in mountain loads of homework. Less studious ones would be filling up their organizer with CCA, CCA, CCA. Others would say that holidays are the time where one can go find jobs, earn money and kill time. So there are 2 extremes... However, I feel that since Secondary School, mine is just a fair share of being occupied with CCA and homework... Of course, with a greater number of chalets, outings and spending of moeny! So, yah... holidays to me are just days where you don't have to go to school everyday for normal lessons. And that's about it. Everything else stays the same!

.: Project Work :.

Let's see... what the seniors said about project work at teh start of the year is partially true! It sucks when you have to do so many editing, looking through, printing and thinking of ideas but it's fun when you have a super fun group!

This week handed up Written Report... Like FINALLY! but it was a freaking mad rush before handing up as the night before I was still doing the cover page and after handing up, I found some 'differences' here and there. Got super pissed off but it's not like I could do anything about it. So hopefully, not much marks would be duducted or what. WR editing was hell! Cancelling about 1000+ words in 2 hours! Not only is it tedious, it gets irritating and frustrating too! Great its over!

Now our group is working on the OP now. Today just had the meeting at my house where again, we operated with many computers! oh did i say? My group uses 5 laptops (each for every one of us) when we're having our meetings! Efficient huh! haha. Of course, we had fun. Never really talked about my group before but I'm so glad that I am in this group because we 5 just have really alot of fun together, laughing and stressing together but never had we once quarelled over anything! Always laughing off everything and maintaining the efficiency! I guess that 'A' grade would not be as valuable or memorable as the past 6months of working together and laughing as the group termed the 'fastest' and the 'coral people' haha...

Something real funny happened today. After 6 months, we found out that one of the SUPER MOST important word in our project has always been pronounced wrongly! Seychelles was pronounced by us as 'Say-cher-lis' but in actual fact, after checking today, it was actually pronounced as 'Say-shells'! We had a great laugh! and lucky this was found out before OP!

.: Sentosa :.

Exam results overall --> lower than expected so it sucks. That aside, I've been like having fun this weekend! Or rather, yesterday. After the whole mundane week of going to school to finish lectures on this year's syllabus and looking at test results/statistics and corrections, I have finally been able to sort of 'enjoy' myself yesterday!

Sentosa at the beach with the band. haha. This is probably the first time I see 'potluck' being so successful! Every section really brought their own stuff and we had a lot of good food. Fried rice, sushi, nuggets, spring rolls, sandwiches, water, drinks, mashed potato, corn thingys, pizza etc. It's like an international buffet by the beach. What ambience. haha. We played many fun games. New TAE, new games! They were really twisted and whacky I should say. Captain's ball with water-filled ballons, frisbee using banana, dodgeball with plastic bags filled with milk and volleyball with body parts to hit on. Of course, something that we can't really do in ECP in VJ clothes whenever we're there, mass dunking! haha! It was fun, fun, fun. My neck is now burning hot because apparently, the back part of my neck got real burnt and now, if I happen to touch it, the pain will like remain for 5 seconds. Despite all the aftermath of that day like the burnt, I got tanned and had a whole lot of fun! What's going to happen for the next band outing? I just can't wait!

After that, rushed to watch SSO concert with Gino and Nicholas and Kenneth. Woah... lucky Nicholas told me about this concert because, the horn concerto was splendid, marvellous, excellent. Probably not the best of the best in the world but defitenly one of the reigning champions in horn playing. Looking at him play, I just am more inspired to become a greater horn player, one that is able to play like him, stand at that position when I'm older. The horn concerto was good and so were the other pieces. I mean, what can you expect from SSO! Bravo SSO!

Before meeting them, I was with Alexa walking to marina square and something super funny happened. We sort of spotted our schoolmate whom alexa knows but I don't. However, it was like I do recognise his face and all. He was with someone else and Alexa decided to stalk them. So the whole point was that it was the funniest incident of the day as we acted like untrained PIs with me being the very unreluctant follower getting pulled around by Alexa to follow them. Of course, i gave some directions too. The funniest was that we walked into a handphone shop to avoid being spotted by them and the shopkeeper just stared at us and we embarrasingly walked out. It was so funny! Had a great laugh at our own actions haha!

Written Report due date and Oral Presentation is coming. Chinese 'A' Levels is approching. When can I have a break! I'm just getting so temperamental these few days. Got to cut myself some slack and have fun! (if it's possible)

.: Donkey chasing after carrots :.

Had GP today and our GP teacher said something which another student wrote in his/her GP essay that made an impact on me. Or maybe, made me wonder. This student wrote something like "in secondary school, we aim to get good results so we get the carrot of getting into a good junior college, one of the best in Singapore. In JC, we aim score well to get the carrot which is the scholarship presented. In the work force, everyone aims to be the best or works hard just to get the carrot of the position they want or even, a certain salary." So, what has become of Singaporeans? The rich, poor, old, young, traditional, cultured etc. Have we all become donkeys chasing for that carrot all the time. In no point in time will we be truly contented because of that certain something that we still want to achieve, what to get, and what to show we have. Maybe it's just Singaporeans or it may apply to the international population as well. All that I can say is that what happens everyday is just a follow up as what had happened the day before. This make be believe less in the statement 'putting everything behind you and start afresh!' How often can we actually whole-heartedly do that?

Got back a few results today. Probably 'contentment' and 'disappointment' is the overall feeling? Contented that I got this and thinking of classsmates who did worse, I should not be in deep sadness or what. Disappointed? Sure thing to feel. Never have I felt so sad over my Math results. A possible 'A' subject actually turned out to be one of my lowest grades. Careless mistakes after careless mistakes. Exam pressure and stress made it worse. The most unexpected result I got back in my life? Definitely. GP was a pass and chinese... the only thing left to say is work hard in the next 1 month!

Today marks the start of my freedom (not really, only for books I guess)! Let's see... Promos 2008, once in a lifetime exam... how did I fare? BAD!

A general overview of what I would suppose to be rather disturbing results to me.

General Paper - think my points for essay were not strong enough. Comprehension... all this about 'chick lit' and 'lad lit' is interesting but to sour things up, they had to give really weird questions that were both difficult to comprehend and hence, answer. BAD

Economics - okay I guess. Probably one of my only confident subjects. OKAY

Chemistry - arrgh. MCQ! screwed me totally. stupid mistakes and paper 2...bad starting and what a long winded story in the middle of a question about world war 1 when they just wanted to test on your knowledge of chlorine and stoichiometry in 'ppm' form. BAD

Mathematics - Time management is really the key! and conics killed me. my lack of knowledge killed me. what more do I have to say. thought I can get an A for math at least. DISAPPOINTING!

Physics - why am I not surprised that I'm going to see mr chan and be taking R paper for this? as much as I think I improved on the theory and application part of physics greatly since mid years, the questions were just purely un-doable. like why do you have to set so hard questions which in actual fact, won't really appear in 'A' Levels. arrgh. yes, whining starts here, starts from physics because I sort of regret taking it. should have taken Literature instead.... TOTALLY BAD!

Chinese - For the first time in my life, I had no clue what I was writing for me essay. Some you ya she hui and li mao thing. Could not do the rest of the questions so I attempted this. Looking on thr bright side, at least I understood both the passages given haha! so... OKAY!

Going to be rather busy for Open House, then PW, and in the midst, NSSN '08! So those who are free on 10th December, do drop by VJC and hear the band perform! you'll DEFINITELY enjoy youselves :) details up soon!

Time to relax! Eyes are going to be glued on TV because Survivor and The Amazing Race new seasons are all out! what a great time!

.: Exams... Ewwww :.

General Paper yesterday. Totally screwed it up as much as I kept my composure after the paper. It's like readin a literature unseen prose passage which I was like so good at last time but this is like 100 times more difficult. Not as many literary devices or connations to it but still bombarded with like god-knows-from-where words which are unrecognisable. Talk about 'chick lit' and 'lad lit'. I didn't even know this was the term for these genre of books. Comprehension -.- Essay was a lucky one for me though because I did media (which I don't think I did well anyway) and instead of another possible 2 essay questions I contemplated on whether to attempt or not. Turns out, I got the meaning of both key words in the 2 questions wrong. LUCKY ME! Embarassing example: I actually thought 'Capital Punishment' was punished by monetary conpensation or what. Turns out it's like canning or some punishments to that effect. Lucky me and yah... dumb!

Studying is in the process of completion in 1 weeks time! can't wait for it. That irritating Chinese paper on the following monday is just such a spoiler! But who cares! Now is mugging period so after my exams shall I post again :)

.: Feelin' Fab Week :.

This has be a fun-filled week! 3/5 days have proper school, Feelin' Fab, National Day celebration and then Sentosa trip! Whoa! Probably my best week in VJC almost after the orientation period days!

1st best thing of the week:

Long and tedious Tuesday changed to Friday's timetable which on the contary, is short and fast! After that very short day, the class went to Cafe Cartel to eat and talk and some of us went to Gelare to eat waffle and do work!

2nd best thing of the week: Feelin' Fab

This year's J1s are really lucky! We have people coming down from SPH to report on Feelin' Fab, we have so many activities the J2s didn't have in thier Feelin' Fab such as go-kart, horse riding, snow boarding etc. Majority of my class did Kick boxing in the morning and then, go-karting in the afternoon! And no, feelin' fab wasn't about this only. On that Wednesday where we had no school AT ALL, we started off with some of us playing Old Maid, Mahjong (cards) on the track while some others played football on the field while waiting for one group to discuss WR. Then, we they're done, the whole class, yes, WHOLE CLASS (20+ of us) played mass captain's ball on the field! It's so hilarious to see 20 over people chasing over one ball and with the different athletics using their different skills for the first time! After which, we went to Kick box where i totally didn't get the person talking about what level 1., level 2 thing (which is actually referring to the intensity of your punch and kicks) until the next day! It was a tiring but funny and hilarious 'work-out' I would say! Standing beside Ciyi and joking with him is so fun.lol. After that, the class decided to go to Suntec and have our lunch. We changed our decision from eating at soup spoon to pizza hut. There, we spent a while and after which, went to walk around Suntec and ended up in Toys R Us playing childish, immature, disgusting things accompanied with out-of-the-world actions! But it was fun seeing the whole class in Toys R Us playing and laughing until I think we looked totally inappropriate to be there in VJ shirts. After which, we headed back to school for our go-karting session! This is so much more fun than the Escape Theme Park one. The girls were like so scared before they drove the thing which really sounded go-kart-ish and moving real fast but after the thing, they wanted more! haha! but it was definitely a thrill. Manouvering the car and driving at such a fast speed trying not to bang into the tyres or people! The best thing was that there were even spectators stading around looking at you drive around the school in the go-kart arena they formed! Nope, we haven't had enough fun! Some of us went to play volleyball then captain's ball again in the evening till 6+ before retiring. The day then ended with weizhen, jason and I going to Thaipan for our dinner! What a blast!

3rd Best thing of the week: Sentosa Outing

Half the class went to Sentosa on Friday! Although it was not all because of the 'Connect Singapore' thing, it was still fun! After the national day celebration in school, we headed to Sentosa for some beach, sun and fun! It has been a long time since I've been to Sentosa and taking the monorial for the first time there was a cool thing and the sight of the IR construction site looked like a 100 over storey building just collapsed just that all sediments were already cleared (what a metaphor). okay. So, there, Jason, JianXiang, Jian Wei and I went into the sea to play some 'water polo' which was not like it at all and then decided to swim to another island while the girls stayed on the beach to talk and take photos! We played frisbee, volleyball, captain's ball and whatever not. We talked, tanned and laughed alot which was the main thing and ya.. really had a lot of fun! I think only pictures can tell! After Sentosa, was walking around in Vivo then home for Olympics opening! The next Sentosa outing - the whole class have to go!

I think the exercise and keeping fit mood is here! I can't do proper 100 push ups as i used to now! sheesh! too much junk food and no exercise :( darn! I'm going to start my 'keep-fit' routine now!

Just watched "Money not enough 2" with family! What seemed to be a typical, full of fake animations and digital work Singaporean film has definitely shocked me and gave the Singapore Movie Scene a twist in my opinion. Probably one of the nicest, most touching and approachable Jack Neo film thus far! Definitely a must watch. What that might seem totally lame and expected in the start will progress on with the hightening and intensified tension and emotion in the film where hearts are touched. (why do I seem like i'm writing a lit essay on unseen prose. lol)

This week has passed so fast that I can barely recall what had really happened! Sigh... life... so mundane now... with promos coming in about 5-6 weeks time, I've really got to start study! Keep going out for movies, spending my time in band, doing PW and all... gosh! Physics is the only subject that I really don't understand what is going on! maybe it's partially my fault too because I am always listening to my music in Physics lecture but the thign is that I do understand slightly when I read it again. it's just the stupid application part! it's just a wonder how I got that A2 for my physics when I can remember vividly that I felt like shit doing that paper and my last essay question, iI only did 2 marks worth of it.

Anyway, congratulations to lorraine and darren ng for being the band's new majors! Do a good job and believe in yourslef! A wonderful, exciting and emotional journey awaits you guys!

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to elizabeth whose birthday is on the unforgettable 29th July, Tuesday this year! haha! Now someone has a crown already, finally making her a real 'queen' lol!

.: Boring... :.

Life has been so boring! Seriously, it's just going to school, going for band, having meetings - PW and EXCO, studying all the time and going through the same routine. No, I believe it's not because it's a VJ thing but all Junior Colleges act the same way and also, I believe Polytechnics also have mundane lifestyles! Who or what can we blame but the way things are. Students have nothing to worry except for studies. Unnecessary worries I suppose are friendship blabla... While adults worry about much more things. It's funny how now I really want to be an adult but yet, fear the future. Yes, it's contradicting... sheeesh...

Anyway, listening comprehension today.. I think I got 9/10 which is bad I suppose. Worse still, I changed to a wrong answer at the last minute! Next time, if your unsure, just go with your gut feeling and stick with the first answer you put. It's usually right... Lesson learnt for today!

I'm going to start embarking on the journey (which I think will take quite long) to read the book "The Kite Runner" again! Yes, it's a freaking old book but no harm reading it again for leisure! More sensible than the Archie comics I've been reading all night and more interesting than the pile of lecture notes I have!

.: A day to slack! :.

I've realised that I'm more capable of playing and studying at the same time now as compared to the past! This morning was one of the funniest mornings I've had, not that I grade my mornings. Anyway, today was E-learning for all the J1s in VJC. Basically, what happens is that everyone of us do not have to go to school and we'll have lessons from home. This is some precaution by MOE to take in case of future disasters etc. so much so that we can't leave home. So, it was like a teacher talking (REAL-LIFE) while we listen and we can ask question. So it's not pre-recorded or what, the teachers had fun this morning too I guess! Teaching a class over the computer and we all listen to the teacher, voice out questions, 'raise hands', state our answers etc. Was quite funny because when some of my classmates used the speaker to talk... it had serious echoing problem. Thus, the rest of the class was like hearing, "Mr Chan, can you go slower...slower..slower..." Yup! and alot of funny things happen like the 'encouragement' thing and laughing into the mike. all these made me laugh and I think my father thought I was crazy laughing to the computer. In the noon, headed over to LiuKun's house to go for chinese elearning together and project work then to play. Her house is seriously HUGE! about 3 times or 4 times my house? Because it's two semi-detatched combined together where her whole family stays together. There's even a lift within the house! Anyway, her basement was one of the nicest and best ones I've seen in my life! Got fooseball, pool table, karaoke, more than 20 poker cards set, mahjong table. So we (those who went which was about 10 of us) played all the things and Mahjong which I won! sorry jianwei! haha! anyway, was a fun day. Headed out for dinner then cabbed home which cost quite a bit. Anyway, today was fun! Irritating why we must go to school tomorrow.

Examination results that I've got back has been okay. Not like the best or very good but not very bad too. So, I'm still going to work hard NOT mug hard for Promos which is like in 2 months time? yucks.

Yesterday was super productive during out PW meeting at Cathay, Starbucks. We (Krystal, Jianxiang, Arthur, Myself) got a great place to do our PW at and we finished out survey questions, interview questions, sponsor letters, timeline etc. in like 3 hours? When everyone has things to do and division of labour is there, everything gets done quickly! Only after then, can we enjoy the fruits of our labour - not worrying about PW for the rest of the day and go watch movie then to Minyang's house at Orchard, Ardmore Park for dinner and to play Bingo!

I love this week! Monday - Youth day - stay at home. Thursday - Eleaning or some online learning where all the Victorians will be having class through the computer at home the whole day! I think it's going to be quite cool since we're going to have lessons from our respective houses and listening to the teacher from the screen of our computer!

Chinese oral this wednesday! hopefully it'll go on well and I still can't believe the fact that I didn't know what is 'wo bao'! But anyway, I guess my oral that day will go on quite smoothly! I've been practicing! haha!

You must be wondering what's with all the economic terms and all. Well, I think 'econs language' is quite fun to use when you understand it! So, I'm just trying it out! haha!

How often do one feel lowest in his life? How often do one feel like there is nothing worth doing things for? Not worth studying, not worth pursueing, not worth doing anything. It's so funny how sometimes we can be so happy and other times, so sad. So happy in the morning and when something happens, we just become so sad which makes it a total contrast to ones morning feeling. Sometimes one can really wonder when, in our life, will we truely feel happy.

Got back some exam results this week. Not very good results but then again, am satisfied to a certain extent. Hopefully, Promos will be much better!

It's been such a mad rush over so many things. Even practicals also have to be rushed. Now, doing gifts also have to be rushed. The World is always moving at a speed faster then us. GOt back a few tests today namely Physics and Chinese. Er... let's just say one is okay the other was bad? Looks like I really do need to listen to my tutor although I really don't like listening to his sarcasm and all. grr. but I guess once you hit rock-bottom, there's no where to go other than up so I've hit rock-bottom (at least I hope my consideration of Rock-bottom is this) and I hope I'll just continue to be escalating in the future days!

Next few days is going to be busy, busy and busy. Investiture coming along with more piles of homework and exam results revelation. It's sure going to be an emotional week for all! Hope I do do relatively well for the rest of my papers though hopes aren't that high. haha.

This blog of mine has finally, yes, FINALLY, been revived. However, I'm uncertain how long it will stay alive!

Let’s see... my last blog entry was on New York Trip and so many things has happened since then. Urban Hike, Birthdays, thousands of practices and dinners with band members, sleepy periods in Lectures and Tutorials, Live Ad, SPAs, VJC Sports Day, EXCO interviews, Football Girls Match, Majestia 2008 @ Esplanade, Strings From America @ PT, June Holidays filled up with JTS '08, DSA interviews, Studying, meetings, Movies, CIP - NEA and SLV, EXCO announcement, and finally, MID YEAR EXAM!

Wow, Term 2 has definitely been eventful and I would say, mix of emotions. Looking from the calendar of events the VJCSB had, ‘Majestia XXIII’ was the highlight of everything. As Mr Tan says, "you guys are a lucky batch. First, get to perform in the World's most famous concert hall, Carnegie Hall, and just a few months later, in Singapore's very own, Esplanade Theatre" . All that happened in just one semester. IT was a hell of a ride but nevertheless, unforgettable and memorable. Sitting on the Esplanade theatre hall was nothing compared to that of Carnegie. However, just by the prestige and opportunity that we have was just an indescribable satisfaction and luck. Playing to a 1600 full house audience all the way up to the highest and last seat of the hall was a great feeling. All was not possible without all our hard work in selling the tickets and practicing hard I guess.

As the J2s now move on to the next chapter of their JC life, we also move on. Although no band practice has been held without them yet, i can forsee a rather boring and unmotivated band in practice. But I guess every good thing comes and go! So, looking forward to band practices too.

Been busy with all the EXCO meetings and all but all had been fun!

Exams just finished and let me see, I'm going to break my own record of not failing anything before. Which Sucks. Some say 'your real competition is yourself. To challenge yourself and break new records!' Looks like I did break some record. Just that it's not really a very positive aftermath. haha. Anyway, putting that disgustingly difficult and out-of-this-world exam aside, Thursday and Friday was spent with my wonderful class, 08S64 after exams! To some, Thursday was their last paper but for the Chinese 'enthusiasts', haha, It was Friday. But nevertheless, we went to celebrate with them on Thursday too. Celebraate what? I guess is to celebrate the herald of Victorians back to Earth form hell. We went to watch 'Wanted' on Thursday and on Friday 'Don't mess with the Zohan' and 'Get Smart'. Movie marathon! Though there was lesser people turning up on Friday as compared to Thursday, both days were like super fun and enjoyable. Okay... not for me because something happened on Friday night. But other than that, it was an enjoyable day! Also, what happened made me realize how nice and concern my friends are and such bonds I suppose, are what we call real friendship bonds that can withstand even the strongest tidal waves!

CIP - SLV and NEA over the holidays was fun and very enriching. Every CIP that was done last time was just earning points upon performing manual work and mundane chores. But this time, both events thought me things, lessons and opened my eyes which is I guess, the true aim of performing CIP. SLV was bringing a group of mentally challenged aged people to the zoo and NEA was facilitating students of various Secondary Schools to compete in a nation-wide amazing race. I guess I made really good friends in NEA and I was unexpectedly touched by their final gestures while for SLV, it just makes one know how to treasure their life and bliss even more. Rather than asking for a blissful life and better life, why not ask what have we done to diminish the bliss we have in our lives because some people, can't even enjoy the simplest form of recognition from the public or even, their families.

Finally, Yesterday was Bedok View's Performing arts concert. It was a good concert especially for the drama. Was rather funny. But anyway, the band performed well so good job! Went with alot of ex-BVCBians which made it a good time to catch up and have fun like before!

Also, thank you bff for everything this entire period. Better not go you-know-where and mine is 9 days and counting... lol

.: Week passed like no other :.

Catching up with tutorials and lectures have been such a draining task! After the NY trip, i begin to want to pon more lessons then normal. I always thought poning was not very good but after I came back, for some weird reasons I always try to ask my friends to pon with me. However, I only ponned 1 lecture thus far which is boring Econs lecture!

Speech Day back at Bedok View on Friday! Getting awards and prizes on the 11th April 2008 might most probably be the last time I can do so since I have so much to catch up in school now and with so many clever people around me now! haha! For the first time, I actually managed to go into the AVA to eat! Previous years was either canteen or playing as an emsemble but this year was different because I was a graduated awardee! The food there was great. Talked to quite a number of teachers and the principal and the day ended with going to Elizabeth's house there to take pictures and slack! Was suppose to publisize my concert but didn't get the chance to. My whole BVCB population needs to know of the VJCSB concert! haha!

Planned for the Live Ad on Saturday! All's going on fine and hoefully it'll be funny, entertaining and informative enough for TAE and for the schooL! haha! J1 band people can really come up with some real lame and funny ideas!

Next whole week is going to be another tiring week! Wednesday got band practice followed by strings all the way till 9pm and Saturday! URBAN HIKE which I'm very excited about! and IJTP concert! Studies is a whole load of infinite assignments and tutorials each week! I don;t really get much of AP, GP, Maclarin's, Differentiation. How screwed am I?!

.: New York Band and Orchestra Festival II :.

PICTURES AND UPDATES!

IT WAS A BLAST!

It's been long since the festival, since New York. After coming back, all that's done is catch up, catch up and catch up. From copying like 7 -9 lecture notes to writing 4-5 assignment answers out, it has been tiring. And worse still, PW, the infamous subject I would say. Have to rush my PI by tomorrow and it really took a toll on me today. Anyway, since I just finish my PI being the only thing I plan to do tonight, i shall finally update on my New York Trip.

One different thing after New York trip is that for now, everytime I stip into the band room, the feeling is somehow different. Like looking around, u can say, I actually went overseas with this girl/that guy. How many can actually do that? haha. Okay, putting that aside, the trip itself.

Being on the 2nd trip of course there were some minuses like the New Jersey trip, the buffets that the rest got to enjoy and of course, the 1 hour more of shopping at woodbury Commons. However, I guess the shorter trip people also enjoyed ourselves will we were the happy 14, the 'guest players' haha and of course when we joined the rest, the fun we had

together as a band is great.

Practice at Manhattan room! We had our own venue to practice for 1 night and a few afternoons in the hotel itself. It was some function room that had tables and chairs but was transformed into a band practice area for us. Kind of cool to perform where the view behind the conductor is actually builings and birds would jsut randomly fly past and we can see (if you do notice that is). It was definitely a good experience. haha

Our hotel room was situated in Times Square. Stayed in Manhattan Sheraton and the hotel a little bit screwed. First night while we were there, at about 10 or 11 pm (not so sure), the water was suddenly cut off and all those that hadn't bathe were of course pissed off and irritated. Lucky I took my bath already. Some came to my room to bath because my room had water for some reason but it was a rather bad first impression of the hotel. Oh ya! The original room given to my group of roommates was actually occupied! Room 1703 (as I remembered) was actually occupied and as I opened the door, I saw clothes and luggages lysing around, thinking that it was the one of my other roommate but it was not. So i quickly go out and told the rest of my roommates. What an experience! going to a room not yet cleared. Because of that, we got changed to 719... 10 floors descend. :( but was okay actually because going to Manhattan Room took only like 1min walking down by stairs. The lifts always took super long anyway. haha

Times Square was so much more nicer than i had seen on TV or had expected! It no doubt is a fashion city, a plave where broadway shows and billboards are everywhere, lightening up the place! The number of people walking on the streets, basking, shouting is a whole lot and it's really good to just breathe in the air and dip into the atmosphere of the New York Culture! Some real distinct shops are the Virgin Megastore, the billboards, M&Ms and Hersheys shop which are huge and 2 levels tall just across the road of each other and of course, the countless number of shops selling 'I (heart)Love NY' shirts.

One of the night was the Hudson River Cruise day. Where all the bands and orchestras in this festival go onto the cruise. The view outside as the boat sailed through the Hudson River was nice and of course, picture taking session started with many of us taking pictures. and i realize that Singaporeans in general take much much more pictures than those of other countries because we were sort of blocking the passage way just to get cool and nice pictures of us and the view behind. Passed many bridges, Brooklyn Bridge, and saw many skyscrapers from the view of the sea. It was nice. Dancing that night. Didn't dance but could see how some band members could actually rock their socks off on the dance floor! it was a fun experience! Until another band came to dance together on the same dance floor, it was all a dance frenzy in the cruise ship with music blasting! What an experience! It's like a legalised underage dance party!

Performance at Central Park was... FUN! Never perfomed in casual clothing but this time, we got to do it. Performing in like anything to keep us warm showing our pullover in the Band Shell was an experience! haha. Because we look like some professionals that just go to some venue and set up instrument, play and go. There for the sake of performing. haha. But it was fun. We sounded so great that one passerby who was resting at some benches nearby heard our music and she actually cried! (that was shocking when Mdm Goh told us) Quite cool.. we can move people emotionally ;) haha! than take pictures at Central Park and hear other bands play. How many people can get a chance to perform at Central Park? Seriously not many! Especially from Singapore! This goes the same for performing at CARNEGIE HALL!

To evey musician out there, performing in Carnegie Hall is a prestige, is a hell of an experience, it's a dream i suppose. My couductor even told us that it was to the extent that people dreams to have a breath in the Carnegie hall and that we should take as much of the Carnegie air while we're there. No doubt, the hall did not fail my expectations but instead, wowed me despite knowing what to expect. The hall is like a zillion times better than esplanade. Just with it's natural acoustics projection and decorations, gold plated walls at some parts, 5 levels of seats, beautiful furnishings and great effects, the hall was just stunning. To play on the stage was just...... unforgettable. So we spent our whole Wednesday moving in and out of the hall. Morning - Soundcheck. Afternoon - Adjudication. Night - showcase and results. The seats were quite comfortable too by the way.

Performing or rather, going through the adjudication itself was actually a little scary at first but soon, it was fine! After all the practice and all, Victoria Junior College Symphonic Band was ready to take New York by storm, take Carnegie Hall by storm and fill every air molecule with the music and vibes of our music. No doubt it did! We performed and the ending last few bars would be the moment I will always cherish. PLaying the high Fs and ending off with C and with the resonance of the band sounds in the hall, bringing stainding ovation from the audiences after our performance at the supposedly 2nd but actually last peice was whoosh... undescripable feeling! STANDING OVATION from the audience where only probably 4 people know us only! and of course, the results were what we had wanted which was a GOLD!!! with scores of 96, 93, 96 from the 3 judges. Average of 95%! Practicing hard for Machu Picchu and Entrance of the Gladiators was worth it! Singing school song and cheering outside the Cernegie Hall was fun and ya... surprisingly, it brought one girl from another band in california (North Torrence) to tears. haha. funny. What an experience!

And after all the stress and focus, it was time for actual city tour and we toured the streets of New York, went to see the Statue of Liberty, passed by Ground Zero, entered the UN building, saw Empire State Building, go to Jullius Music School etc. IT was interesting knowing that New York actually is populated by 8million odd people (yes, i did listen to that tour guide which i find very interesting.haha) and Manhattan stretches quite long. Anyway, after that, back to airport for some of us, bye to Group A and hello Singapore! The flight was super long - 22 hours i think. Sat with Alyssa, Gabriel and Charmaine on the way back which was rather fun!

This trip really made some of us grow closer together I think and it was fun! Eating together as a band, bonding and going on section outings at New York! Playing cards at night. Bracing ourself for the competition and the cold wind. making sure we're warm in the 2 degree celcius place and shopping and making fun of each other etc etc. A trip never to forget I'm certain!

Picture are finally up as well! this whole week was disastrous to the max la. No time to do anything except copying one week worth of Lecture notes and assignments, doing homework which i don't understanda at all. GRRR. Finally a break, at least for now.

.: TIRED! :.

Just came back from band practice and band good luck dinner! We sounded fantastically great today man! The last half an hour's performance at PT jsut goes to show how our hard work for that past 3 months had paid off and how staying back for band till almst 8 today and yeasterday paid off. Just can't wait to rock New York! CARNEGIE HALL! We're coming! haha. band spirit was really high especially coming to the last part, when we all cheered and played the school song... like suddenly the trumpets decide to do it. haha! then band good luck dinner! I think the band is just so ready for New York! In 2 more days, some of the band members will head to NY while its on a Saturday NIght for me! haha! it's gonna be an extremely fun trip!

The Fortune Travels people came last Saturday to brief us about NY and all and woah! it's really going to be a memorable jouney from the looks of it. Workshops, compeition in world reknown hall, performance at Central Park, shopping, Factory Outlet, Time's square, Broadway shows, 4-5 Star accomodation! haha! My wanting to go to NY is at it's peak now! Missing one whole week of school so its dead time after we're back in Singapore! but WHO CARES! haha

Horn Quartet performance today! What an experience! i think we did not bad! so GOOD JOB! haha. pictures up soon. and after al lthe practices, worrying and anxiety, our quartet performance is over and now, we only want to have another chance to perform quartet again!

Whole of MArch holidays was like BAND everyday and of course, filled up with outings with some other people! THe 08S64 Class BBQ was fun! BBQ at some super high class, rich place and with like a bar there and all., GREAT place to BBQ! all thanks to MinYang :) HAd alot of fun! talking, eating, bbq-ing and of course playing cards and i had my first taste of drinking overage drinks as i would call it.
Last week was just super eventful so I shall just upload pictures

.: March Holiday Past,Present and Future = Busy :.

Now it's the middle of the supposedly March Holiday. Which in this case this year, is not really one March Holiday for me! DIE! Going to be so dead tired. My plan this March holiday - Monday, band individuals and then go collect Passport and dinner with Weining and Xiaowei. Tuesday, Band and Band BBQ. Wednesday, Band and Band Sectionals . Thursday... no band BUT have to meet with one group of friends in the morning till late noon then meet with another group of friends for dinner and stayover at my OGL's house. Then Friday EARLY IN THE MORNING, go for band again! Then have Briefing for New York Trip that day and then rush down to Orchard for my class bbq. and Saturday, band. :( It's like almost everyday there is band (which is not a bad thing cuz i think we really need to do alot of practice to get the best out of all of us and the piece, though we sound great now) haha. and like outings. Never have i felt rather 'stressed' out over going out before. What an irony. So doubt there will be time to blog too. haha.

Just came back from band bbq. though turn out was small, i was glad that i went because at least i enjoyed myself! Sitting by the beach and talking to gongzhu and yanzhu and bbq-ing burnt satay and all. Was rather fun hanging out with some J1 band members! though we do that like almost every saturday or everyweek! haha. And today rained... but it became cooling at night which was just great!

.: Finally Updating :.

I have got to update more often! This blog is like going into ICU every once a week. so not updated. anyway, the past whole week and days this week that's passed have been a rather busy one. School starts real proper now, Can feel that the teacher's are no longer cutting us some slack. Though marginal, but the feeling that we are now actual students of the school is really scary. No longer can you rely on the excuse that we might not be here anymore when we don't want to hand in assignments or what. Taking new subjects like economics and studying deeper into the other subjects just makes the stress level go higher! My avenue of stress-release - talking to my friends about random stuff during lectures and tutorials and the band!
Year 2s are having common test so the band is practically only filled with Year1s. in which we still sound rather good! haha. Time after the year 2s graduate will be like this. But anyway, the band is practicing real hard for New York trip and as what Joel said just now at dinner, "We must stop slacking after this dinner already becuse New York is like 16 days away!" So fast! and it's still snowing there at New York with weather ranging from 0 to 10. I guess it'll be cold! Very excited. I think I'm quite bless (though some might call it unlucky), to be visiting this snowy regions so much. 2 months ago, was at Eastern Europe and now, to New York! must treasure all of these memories!
The band also seems different now. J2s not there for the time being and especially the departure of JingWen and Jiaying! the previous Saturday they came back and we were all so happy to see them! they're definitely forever in VJCSB! They played for NSSN and had so much more times in the band than i had. i only wished they could stay, we all could stay! but you guys must also get on with your life at your new JCs and treat VJCSB's band room as your second home still :)
Tests! Tests! Tests! Had economic test and chinese test and english/math test to come. I have a very bad feeling that i'm not going to do well for econs anyway. i like ecnomics now because it's very interesting! jsut have to take time to adapt to this new subject!
Last Saturday, went out to chill with Elizabeth, Yvonne and Gino! and yup! we had a great time like always! had dinner together and as yvonne had work, the three of us basically sat around, played arcade, study for a while whilst waiting for her to knock off! Catching up with old friends are always a good thing! Especially where there's a multitude of words and information we all want to share! Haha! HAd a graet laugh at the arcade! It was FUN! Life in VJ has been so much fun and meeting them gave a wonderful ending to my day!

.: What a Roller-Coaster Ride :.

This week was a real long and emotional one! One can say that it has been a long rollar coaster ride! For 08S64, monday was our last day as a class in school! Went to eat at Pepper Lunch at night where we played stupid games and had fun like we always do! But behind all the laughter and joy we had that night, we were (or some of us were) worried about the posting results about to be released in a few hours time. Those 9 pointers and above were worried that we can't get back in.

HOw true it was! This year, VJ's cut-off point for Science decreased yet again. Now, to partial 4. I never expected this. Trying to stay optimistic and positive all along, I was only marginally prepared for this result. Once i saw and confirmed that I was posted into MJC, my whole heart sank and i was freaking sad! After being so rooted and bonded in a new environment, to change is difficult and to change to somewhere that you don't want to go at all is worse. I started to settle all my appeal forms and all and i headed to VJ early in the morning to hand in my appeals and all. It was a mad rush on Tuesday morning - having to settle appeal forms to VJ and TJ. Afternoon was a relaxation period 08S64 had as a class because our entire class went to ECP to cycle and blade and at night, to Cineleisure to eat and chill. The last part of the night when we ahd to like say the messages thing and all was kinda sad and made many of us realize how bonded our class is! and to add an event of anti-climax, my contact lenses suddenly went missing IN my eye and everyone crowded around me and it was both scary and hilarious. Scary because i was desperately trying to find my lenses. Hilarious because my classmates were like shining light from their phones (because we were at a rather dark place) and helpine me! That made me know how close we were as a class too.

The next day, i had to report to MJ. As Mj's orientation starts only next monday, it was all talks and talks about things i already knew except for school details. That made it very boring and hence, halfway through, i cabbed back with Daryl (who wanted to go TJ) and another VJ girl back to VJ. BAck at VJ, i felt at home. The sense of isolation and loneliness i felt in MJ was gone. Went to the band room and than talked to some people. That was definitely EMO-DAY for me because i really looked very sad and disappointed that some of my friends claimed was scary. But that was because i was waiting for that call from VJ which never came till later. I slept in the band room, hanged out in school, went to see Mr Wong a number of times. Anxiety started to build up in me. I was nervous. Throughout the whole band prac, my phone never left me at all as i anxiously awaited that call. But till 6pm when i did not receive it and hearing that even my close friend had received it, i resigned myself to fate - fate has decreed that I do not stay in VJ. So sadly, i left the band room and with dearest mortal, Jessie and Renette (the zhen-me friend) and other J1 friends in band and other J2 friends and seniors in band, my horn section, telling me dont worry and good luck, i felt even sadder because i did not want to leave this group of wonderful bandmates whom i've grown close to over the days! And finally, at night, 8.35pm, i got the call and i was in total shock. i was back in VJ AGAIN! that was a close shave! i had to receive the call at night! and my heart almost came out my mouth when i heard "your appeal is successful". it is then, that i thanked all my friends and told them this good news! Also, getting back to VJ through General Appeal is rather lucky so I'm going to study real hard i guess! so many smart people in VJ! haha

So it was kinda moving from the bottomless pit back up to the highest end in the sky! Lesson Learnt: always treasure every moment of your life because you might lose it anytime!

The new 08S64 had 4 more students added to it. It is some kind of exchange. We lost 4 previously and now gained 4. Welcome guys!

After band practice yesterday, went for lunch and then headed to the beach with some bandmates! suntanned for a while because Olivia and I (gong zhu and wang zi) were kinda drained so we slept and the rest made their tortises and all. haha. then played frisbee and drew VJCSB on the sand. pictures up soon!

.: Chinese New Year, Valentines' Day, Road Run, STJ :.

This year's Chinese New Year was fun! and slacky! lol. didn't have to go around visiting much I must say because this year, my house is the 'host-house'! so do the normal things - blackjack, mahjong, eat and eat CNY goodies, catch up with cousins, collect red packet and all. however, it was definitely nice catching up with cousins. talking about where we are now and about how when we were kids, we were all so stupid and all doing random and stupid stuffs at each other's house. haha. had a great laugh.

Also, went visiting with friends - the 2e2 '05 gang! haha. sort of a annual thing now that we will go house visiting every year! lol. so collect more red packets and eat and played PSP while going from one house to the other! lol. last stop was my house because we all wanted a place to mahjong and blackjack together to end the day! lol. so my house was chosen! good for me because i can save the hassle of going home! haha but it was fun that day! catch up with one another too of course! do miss the secondary school days! took a picture of me upside down (the one zhaos is mentioning at tag board) and will post it up sooN! haha! Eliz photos!! lol

Valentine's Day - 14th February! this year was a different thing because now, i'm in a new place, new school and with new friends. not sure of how many presents to give and what to give. those things that confirm need to buy and give are the Angel and Mortal game thing which we started since Day1 of lessons and that made me really spend some amount! lol. of course, to some of my band friends and classmates (but our 'VERY CHARMING GUYS' in class actually ordered the flowers for all the girls in class which is their present from us. haha. but they gave us chocolates too. so it kind of neutralized the special effect). The things i got back was actually surprisingly, ALOT. lol. one bag full of cup cakes, chocolates, candies, things, and like random stuff from band friends, classmates and angels/mortals. haha! so it was a great surprise i must say. the atmosphere that day was so hyped up that everyone in school had a flower and bags of gifts! however, band-ed in the late afternoon and we all said that we were spending valentines' day with our instruments. it was, a tiring day!

Cross Country!! - 15th February!

Ran at ECP. DIstance: 4.8km. Last time, i always had yvonne to accompany in our walk in BV while there was road run. now, everone in VJ runs!! to not run, your like the unusual one! so of course, follow the flow and run lo. and I got a miserable 394 position under the guys catagory. but its not that bad (at least i think) because the last few were like 600+ or what. lol. but running 4.8km is really tiring! however, after the whole run, the sense of accomplishment and thought of how much calories burnt makes it all worth it. And after running, there were still lucky draw things which i sadly, did not get anything. the prizes were defnitely attractive! class outing after that and another tired day passed.

Band STJ - 16th February!

today had STJ - Senior treat junior cum senior torture junior. lol. it was a fun day at the beach, though i didn't get tanned despite wanting to. played some real durty games by the beach and then cycled at night! the cycling with mingde and yanzhu was one of the most fun ones because there were only like 3 of us and we were joking all the way, talking about games and how we the december babies can celebrate our birthdays together lol. but of course, it was fun cycling with the other band people! good bonding session! lol. now just came back and so, very tired!

Posting results coming out very soon... Next Tuesday, 19th February. Am really afraid that i might not get into VJ again because nobody really knows what is the cut-off this year. though national average dropped, we're all still very uncertain about the cut-off. and in VJ, the number of 9 pointers exponentially increased by alot this year. so don't know. We would not want to leave after learning all the cheers, mass dances and practicing so hard for the New York trip, and signing so many forms and all for NY! We're all looking forward to NY so let us stay in VJ!

The week has been like passing so quickly and there has been so many things that have happened throughout the past one week. So many homework and tutorials to complete, graphs to sketch and assignments to pass up! on top of that, band. Practices are getting more intense but fun! Now, I have to practice another 6 more pieces other than the 3 pieces that I've been practicing on because we're going to play those in New York too! and as those are NSSN pieces, I've alot of catching up to do :( Staying for band to till 6 like for the past few days and all.. draining me out. However, the reward was much laughter and being able to now play the new pieces!

The band is selling cookies to fund for our New York Trip! It's 2 dollars packet in which contains 10 cookies each! any one who wants to buy jsut leave me a tag! haha! Victorians or non-Victorians can always support the Victoria Junior College Symphonic Band =) haha

Went to visit Yvonne together with Gino and Elizabeth last week! haha! finally got to see their working place! almost bought a shoe but gino bought it first so I ended up buying none. But it was a great time catching up and talking about random stuff and all. haha! We always have so much to talk despite not seeing each other for so long! That's a good sign!

Chinese New Year is approaching! Getting all hyped up and excited about CNY! Going to visit relatives, eat good food, catch up with cousins, play cards and mahjong with cousins and all! Just the thought of getting together makes me excited! Seeing how much everyone might have changed! This year, will be going CNY visiting with my Literature classmates to Mrs Ezekiel's house as well as your annual 2e2'05 clique visiting! haha! and lunch wiat Chijmes (is that how you spell it) this Sunday with family! haha! this year is going to be an eventful and different Chinese New Year!

.: Satisfaction OR disappointment :.

The long weekend holiday has come to an end. Weekend holiday basically means break from Thursday to Sunday in my context. Anyway, the most anticipated event of my life thus far and for the year thus far had passed - the release of the GCE O Level Results. The examination one would spend 4/5 years of their life working on and accumulating knowledge set to be displayed in this exam. Results - satisfaction or disappointment.

Was I satisfied with my results? Not really I would say. As some people and teachers have told me, be happy with it and it's only a stepping stone to the next phase of your life! How true can it be. I should count myself rather lucky and be satisfied with my results seeing that many people around me didn't do as well. But then again, how fair is this examination? So many people could have gotten much better scores if it wasn't for the whole bell-jar and moderation thing. Yes, we've been told to expect a difference in the results from what you expect but it's more of a filtration of the different levels of academic then a test of ones intelligence. Due to moderation, all of us were not given the point in which we truely deserved. Life's not fair anyway.

I definitely hope to be able to stay in VJ for it has been my school for the past few weeks and the attatchment to my class and school is there already. Of course,I hope everyone can go to the school that best suits them and they want to be in :)

My class in Victoria Junior College is as stated 08S64. PCME Class. I can't describe how much fun we have as a class though it's been only a short two weeks since we were being introduced to each other! Now, we're a happy and bonded class! Having breaks together, seating in lectures together and passing down sweets/food from our angels/mortals. Laughing together... joking about things like the pronounciation of 'coloumb' haha. It has been so much fun!

08S64 has been to so many places together already! Giant shopping center to hang out and go crazy, JandS at Suntec Sky Garden and yesterday (tuesday) to Thaipan! In all, we've laughed so much and just enjoyed ourselves so much coming up with 'couples' all the time and letting the 'couples' put their acting skills (though it looks quite real sometimes) to display! in all, 08S64 - crazy and fun!

By the way, Thaipan trip yesterday was so fun and funny! 19 people squeezing together on a round table and eacting so much which in the end cost each person $6.50 only considering the amount of food we ordered which was ALOT! haha. and then going to the nearby playground where surprisingly, the guys sang songs, we did mass dance, took photos, rode the spring animals and all! haha! AND TAU-POKING!!

I hope we can all get into VJ again and that we will all score well! remain as a class ya! we still have two more weeks or should i say another 2 more years for all of us. Results coming out tomorrow... whether it's good or bad, at least we know that 08S64 of VJC first intake was a bonded and fun class!

The thought of results coming out tomorrow really made the atmosphere in VJ a little tensed. Even during band today, Yanzhu and I tried to keep focusing on our parts to avoid thinking about the results. haha. But, what's done is done! I wish EVERYONE - Bedok View Friends and VJ friends that we will ALL GET THE RESULTS WE WANT and that the path ahead will be carved the way we want it to be :D

.: Hectic :.

Everything has been so hectic and busy this whole week. Almost everyday I'm home at around 9+ and almost everyday I have so many things to do. The thing that filled me up this week was doing the stuff for the OGLs. Iden decided to do some boards and shirts for the entire group and the OGLs. We wanted to give them a surprise but they said that we cannot give surprises because we were rather obvious. haha. but who cares. They liked the things. Marching to the pits at ECP on Friday night with the entire Iden group having our T-shirt on and with Fiona and Huimin wearing the shirts was definitely a pround moment for them! haha. So many other OGLs asked them who made the shirt and everyone was jeoulous and envious of them! at least our hard work paid off. And I really mean HARD WORK! haha. Especially to Poryee, Cheryl and Sihan also with Me, Sabrina and Frances and with all the other Idem members, working till so late every night. Must really give credit to Poryee and Cheryl for this. GOOD JOB PEOPLE! haha. At least the reward which was the smiles on the OGLs faces when they received the things and the group heart was one that we weould fine the best fruit to reap from our hard work! haha

Friday night's BBQ was definitely fun. All the Orientation groups meeting up again and the J1s playing by the beach and talking! FUN!

Lessons are getting realy proper. Tutorials and Lectures. I've become one who doesn't do much homework because most of the time, I'm really trying my best to understand what the lecturers are talking because lectures can sometimes get SO boring that I will fall asleep and sometimes, so fast moving that I can't catch up. Adjusting to life still... adjusting. but nevertheless, school is still fun I would say because my calss - 08S64 does many stupid things together and have breaks together! haha. Yesterday we sut had a J&S. Though some things didn't turn out the way we wanted to, we had fun! haha! I would say my class is very sociable and we have bonded together fast already. the envy of many others but I'm sure all the classes are as united and strong bonded! haha!

Band! Now busy practicing for the New York Trip on 21st March. If i do get into VJ again, i will be going to NY with the band. haha. rather excited.. So now, the band is practicing real hard. Sectionals and all. Combine passes very fast. But its rather fun too playing with the band and the band is really good! So self practice is important for me to catch up! haha.. Practice Practice Practice!

Today is rest day for me! Finally got time to rest. Got Chinese homework to do still :( !

[VJC Orientation 01 '08 ~ Iden]

.: Adjusting to VJ life :.

€Orientation's over and like... arrgh.. sad. Orientation was most fun and they just had to end it like that, causing lessons to start proper now and all. Sea Regatta on Monday was fun! got tanned or rather, got burnt! haha. By the way, Sea Regatta is VJ's sea carnival in which all the Year 1s and OGLs will go to ECP and have some games played there both on land and in the sea! haha! THANK YOU MY OGLs for making those very weonderful notes for us and taking care of us, carrying our valuables and making sure we have water all this while and thank you my idenmates for bringing so much laughter and excitement to my Orientation in VJ!

Lessons in a junior college sure is a whole lot of difference as compared to that in Secondary School! Got to know my classmates already and now, I can safely say we're a happy class with a rather close bond I suppose. haha. Going for lectures in the Lecture Theatre and going for tutorials that can last for 1 and a half hour is something that I need to get accustomed to after not studying for long! My timetable is rather different. Random breaks here and there and the whole level's timetable is not the same unlike Sec school. Some lessons end at around 1230 while unfortunately for me, my Tuesday ends at 530pm. I officially hate Tuesdays. Lessons from 8 to 530pm. Of course, with random breaks in the middle. My class has 24 people and only 6 of us take Chinese because the rest took HMT in Sec School. Lucky for them! 3 and a half hours of my life every week will therefore, be wasted in Chinese lesson :( NO more bao zhang bao dao already! I can't wait to get it done and over with! These two days of studying sure is not easy because I have to re-energize my rusty brain and also, I have to start writing notes and all. Some lectures like economics are so boring that I just want to sleep! BUT, this is JC life i suppose! haha! am prepared for it!

Joined the Victoria Junior College Symphonic Band (VJCSB) already. Started playing pieces right away like Mach Picchu which is grade 6 and Entrance of the Gladiators. Band practices are not long and I'm really happy about it! Met some NCO friends too! So I'm looking forward to our band's next big thing! (shall not be revealed now ;).. )

.: Victoria Junior College Orientation 2008 :.

Just got back from swimming. Went pool party with some Secondary school classmates just now. Super tired now and great catching up and feeling the warmth of a class so previously close to me! (pictures upload next time! :D)

Finally do i have time to actually update on my orientation! It has been a busy week ever since the start of the new year and the start of my school term in the new school - Victoria JC. It has been fun, laughter, happiness and just total excitement everyday in school!

No doubt, the feeling of trepidation did come to me on Wednesday morning while I was on my way to school. I even tried to leave my house later than I had wanted to just because I'm rather afraid of what awaits me and the people I'm going to meet. Being the only one going to the scadefinitely one scary thing that I have to do. The first few moments in the college was pure awkwardness and total uneasiness. The registration part took some time and after which, met some new people whom I made friends with whilst changing. haha. weird but at least, they were my first few new friends of VJ.

First day of orientation started off with alot of talking and briefing on the various subjects and the various combinations etc. of JC. It was early in the morning and we were all in the very stuffy PT. It really made me feel like sleeping. Headed on to the hall and I went to find my group.

I was in the group, IGOR and subgroup IDEN! MAN, WE ROCK! Saw my other group mates and OGL. They are of course the people who made my first few days in VJ so fun and enjoyable! Fiona, Xiaoxian, Huimin, Poryee (who so happens to be my primary school friend and we worked alot together! so,it's great to meet up again!), gordan, gabriel, si han, louis, francis, wen qian, lijun, cheryl, charlene, sabrine, soomi, liangbin!

Orientation was full of games, cheers, skits, mass dances! Games were all super fresh and fun to me! The gams planned out all require us to step outside our comfort zone and it's not anything one would think of in Secondary SchooL! One distict game was the shampoo game in the wet games day (and seriously, we're all wet that day!) The group has to collect as much foam from shampooing fellow group members hair and compare with opponent group!it was FUN FUN FUN!

In VJ, cheers are inevitably one of the most important and famous thing going on in the college! Hence, we learnt alot of cheers - igor cheer, vj cheer and all of them were so catchy. Though difficult to remember some, but shouting till our voices were sore, shouting at the top of our lungs was FUN! Mass dances were learnt too! haha. The best dances and hardest and longest dances I have ever attempted to learn! It took us three days to learn all the dances and it was really great fun dancing together and laughing at mistakes we make while dancing!

To show them off, we headed to suntec yesterday (sat) and we did our mass dance there in public with all the cheers around the Fountain of Wealth! It was HIGH TIME! It was raining but it didn't dampen and Victorians spirit! the cheers just grew louder and louder and the spirit was lifted tremendously! Dancing in the rain... finally i got a chance to do that! haha! It was really fun and definitely a great time I had there!

OG OUTINGS rocked too! that was really our IDEN group bonding time! the times spent with IDEN were great! every day after orientation at 530pm, we will all go out and have dinner together and just chat and laugh and play games! it was so fun! laghed so much all the time because of entertainer poryee and all the other jokes and actions from the other group members! Defintely will miss the times with IDEN!

Tomorrow, SEA REGETTA! Can't wait because it's like palying at ECP and mass dancing in the sea! after that, going out with IDEN again to get our IDEN shirt! Hence, as fiona says, plenty of rest now! (must follow her 1/4 golden rule)

.: Hi to 2008, Bye to 2007 :.

The New Year approaches... 2008. Is it going to be a year full of challenges, misery, unpredictability and even more books or is it oging to be a year of fun, entertainment, surprises and happiness? One never know till 365 days later at this very time will one then, be able to make his/her resoultions on this very year.

Went to my cousin's house at Harbourfront, The Carribean yesterday to celebrate the new year together and of course, to make use of the platform we have to watch the stunning fireworks that are rare in Singapore I should say. Fireworks shot up from the Sentosa side at around 11.58pm (I guess their clock's faster) and while bing captivated from the Sentosa's fireworks, came a crakiling sound from behind me. It was the fireworks from the tall artificial Christmas Tree situated at Mount Faber. That, was one of the nicest fireworks display I've ever seen in Singapore. Not because of the fireworks but because of the entire image of the fireworks with the startling Christmas Tree in sight. It was beautiful. One good thing was that there was no need to sqeeze qith a thousand people like I would usually do because we were at the condo seeing every display. I guessed the atmosphere was high at Vivo as I think I heard screams coming from the Vivo area! Welcomed this New Year with my cousins and family members was not a bad thing though I know I have missed out alot of fun with my friends! Also, wished my cousin a HAPPY BIRTHDAY once the fireworks were seen in the air. Yup... She is a New Year Baby! So fortunate to have the whole world celebrating for her! haha.. While looking at the fireworks, it kind of reminded me how every burst of flame in the air and how it lighted up the black blanket across the sky represented that it is going to be a new year with new beginnings and with new events lined up... but not to also forget all the past. Though the sky might become dark as usual again, life still goes on. But memories of the past I suppose, will still be indelibly imprinted in our memories! For me, there are too many things to remember, too many events that I will never forget that happened in year 2007.

Just to name a few, an event that I will not forget would definitely be SYF 2007 where the band went through thick and thin together. All the band camps, band practices and memorable performances. Though graduated from the band and from the school now, I will definitely not forget how Bedok View Concert Band has shaped me to become a better leader, player, student, person. All the fun, happiness, sorrow and stress that I had undergone being a Band Major would play a tremendous part in my life and growth as a person. I'm sure it will too to anyone who has joined a CCA like Band. And to all the band members now, it's been great leading you guys and remember: "you are like a star" :)

Not to forget, my dearest class, 4E1. The joy i had in this class was double or even triple of even a million times more than the tremendous fun I've had last year with them under 3E1. This year was so much fun. We went out countless of times and enjoyed ourselves to our fullest in all - pool party, BBQ, eat, talk, taking videos, organising ensembles, play cards during post-exam. We also managed to bring not only to ourself joy, but to our teachers too, showing them that first class is not equivalent to bookworms and nerds! We have successfully broken this sterotype and we're proud to be the class of clever people who aren't the typical muggers :D

Also, my Secondary 2 class - 2e2. Though in a different class, we stuck together so closely these two years! Now, we'll be in different schools but I hope the bonds will not loosen up and we will still go for our chalets and all! My joy is with you guys!

Finally, the event not to forget, studying for 'O' Levels. That period was constant studying and teaching and meeting up with friends to study together. Now, everyone is rather nervous of the release of the results. Hope all our hard work will pay off! "It's only 'O' Levels", some may say. But still, a certificate that is of great importance and with it, containing results that shape the next chapter of our lives!

The ups and downs felt this year are all part and parcel of life. What are we to do then to accept them and take all unhappiness in our stride. This year, many sad things have happened, many sad news were heard. But I'm sure for all of us, the good news and happiness will always overweigh that of the negative emotions. Of course, I shall choose to remember the happy ones and forget the sad ones!

Two Words to describe this year as an overall for me:

'FAST' and 'ENJOYABLE'!

.: Happy Gathering :.

Friday was definitely a day of meeting and catching up! The 'influencer' way. Met up wth Elizabeth, Yvonne and Gino to go out on this day supposedly to celebrate my birthday as well as Christmas. Though the mentioned have all passed and it's rather belated, who cares. haha. Having fun is the most important thing anyway wasn't it. The girls have already gotten their job and hearing them talk about some nasty and troublesome customers was real hilarious! Also, not to forget the talks on their eye-candy and encounters at work of course. Went to orchard and we walked and walked and walked and went to eat and caught 'Alvin and the Chipmunks'. Spent our whole afternoon there and later, towards Plaza Singapura where we went to the Daiso Shop. It was rather fun there as there was a row of spectacles which had no degree and Gino and I just had some fun trying the different weird spectacles and also the spectacles which denoted a 'real intellectual look' on, laughing at our bespectacled self. Later, headed on to Fish and Co. The Fish and Co. near PS is really a very romantic and nice place to eat. Very nice ambience and the music (though rather loud) contributed to the very romantic mood! Headed home on bus where I got 'injured'! Grea tday with these guys! Friends whom I've had since Secondary 1, staying by me and us, working together all the time! Though all of us are going to be walking in our different directions in life, there is still this memory that will stay stagnant in our minds :)

School is starting next week. Don't know why but I'm not really excited. New environment, new friends, new school, new everything... ALONE. But nothing can actually change this fact any longer... so, I think I'll just have to brace myself and be myself! :)

.: Busy Day! :.

Today was such a busy day and I am feeling

TOTALLY TIRED AND SLEEPY NOW!

Went back to band today and reached band at about 830am. Today, I taught my section a little and looked at some other sections play, did the Alumni thing with the teachers and played in band for awhile. Band nowadays feel a little foreign to me. My embrochure is out of place and I really hope to be able to have back my ambrochure when I enter JC because I'm really hoping to make it into the Band. I mean, wanting Band to continue being my CCA. However, I received a few Candy Canes and Cookies and Biscuits from some band members today! Thank you! MERRY CHRISTMAS! And, I reached home only at 745pm because I had to go and find Miss Tan to pass her the money and calculate the money! TIRED!

Next thing that contributed to my sense of fatigue is the collection of donation for my friend. Thank You ALL that came to school specially to donate money today and I am sure ZY will appreciate your kindness and generosity! So, THANK YOU! Was rather touched by a few facts today. Some schoolmates whom I saw today don't even recognise ZY but they willingly donated and it was also not a small sum. The value of money doesn't matter but it is the magnitude of your care and concern towards a fellow schoolmate that will really matter and would really be appreciated in the biggest sense! THANK YOU! Although the amount collected today didn't meet the target that Elizabeth and I tried to set, it is okay because ALL OF US, 'have done our best' :) Another thing is that now, I'm having many people knowing my phone number because it was spreaded in the messages! Anonymus calls are increaing rapidly now! But if anybody still wants to donate, just call me or drop me an sms ya!

.: The Unpredictability of Life :.

There are two parts in this entry today, a happy one and a sad one.

First off, the happy one. Went out with Weining and Xiaowei yesterday to shop for Christmas presents for my friends and also, for them to get me my birthday present as they wanted to. Orchard on a Sunday is horrendously crowded, and really 人山人海. No doubt that after my first hour there walking, I wanted to immediately take the train and go to somewhere quieter and less crowded. Tourists and Singaporean alike were filling up the pathways and even though it rained for a while, it didn’t help make the traffic at the open areas better at all. Worse, the traffic within the malls got worse and there came to a point where there was a human jam. However, there is nobody to blame because its afterall, a Sunday and all families and friends will be out shopping, looking at the Christmas lightings in Orchard Road (which in my opinion is only ‘so-so’) and to just have fun! Orchard Road, is afterall, the buzz of this nation. I got my Christmas presents for my friends in the end and Weining and Xiaowei both got me a Nike Bag. That’s the unpredictable part of today. The bag was not cheap, not too expensive and was to be given as a Birthday-cum-Christmas present. At least I have a new school bag for the new school term! THANK YOU WEINING! THANK YOU XIAOWEI! To be close friends after so long and having to be distant from one another is really a blessing to treasure! I really want to thank you guys deeply!

Next, the sad story. I received a call this morning from my form teacher to hear only bad news. Life to me is so unpredictable. One day you see this, the next day you don’t. Nothing stays stagnant in life. One seemingly happy person may have so much misery and sorrow hidden behind that false smile. One seemingly sad person might just be putting on a façade for all to see. So, when can we actually know what’s true and what’s not. Somebody so healthy at times may just fall sick and be diagnosed with a medical problem the next moment. Miracles do happen but more often then not, the instruments of darkness will also strike on the unfortunate. The unpredictability of life can never be known to oneself. Probably that’s what we call fate?

Those who know about my classmate, please do help and just to reiterate whatever’s been told to you, I will be in school from 9am to 5pm this Thursday (27/12/07) to ‘receive your help’ so please do call me when your there and I will go outside school to find you! :) thank you!

.: My Saturday :.

OKAY! Stayed home the whole morning and afternoon. Cut my hair today.. no more slopes!When your home and you have NOTHING to watch on youtube, TV, you will start watching DVDs and eat potato chips and this is what I did. haha. Didn't play mahjong today at my cousin's place so i stayed home and i was so bored that I went to on the aircon in my parents room and started watching Harry Potter - The Order of the Phoenix and eating my chips. Then I left home to meet my friends!

Met up with some of my band mates today. Yesterday, went back to band and participated in the dialogue session, giving some views and tips and also being there for Secitonals and today, went out with people of my batch (some) and namely those whom were going to celebrate some of our birthdays. This outing has been so-called planned since long already. those who went today was EngPuay, Yanting, Xiaojun, Xiuhui and Yanru. And me (the only guy) because mr xiangyi is working and Gino is overseas. lol. BUt it was nevertheless fun and i had to turn up because they wanted to celebrate for the December babies - me, Xiaojun and Engpuay and Yanting. haha. Went to eat Fish and Co and had much fun there eating while talking about random things like shows and band and people whom we know. Haha. Then, we headed to Terminal 3 since almost all of us had not been there before. Took many pictures together and just made alot of noise and keptthe atmosphere high. Haha.. how funny it was that we can spend 4 hours plus at the airport having fun and catching up! Then, we all went home! It was definitely a great time catching up with these band members and close friends of mine! Since O levels, we;ve not seen one another and let alone, talked to one another! It is always great catching up with someone as I always say! Lets you know that you've not been forgotten and the friendship is still that strong with a tight bond :) that's i suppose the rewards we get from making friends - to look back and know that you can talk to them about random stuff!

And thank you EngPuay and Xiaojun for the presents :) Really appreciate them!

Thank you EVERYONE who wished me 'Happy Birthday' on my birthday!

Thanks so much! Really appreciate all of your love and care! just a simple sms was able to make my day and my day was made by so many people! So am really grateful and happY! This year, my birthday wishes came in many different forms - Through sms, friendster, blogger tagboard, calls, online Cards, facebook, accompanying me today, and whatever not. Any in every different medium of wishing, I was made happy so once again, I am truely Thankful to all! It doesn't matter if I was being wished just past midnight or was wished at the end of the day.. The whole 24 hours of 20th December is my birthday and ya... Thank yoU! haha.. no one is late or whatsoever! :D

This year, did not celebrate with my friends on my brithday itself as like previous years but it was nevertheless, a memorable birthday. It is so as i celebrated it with my cousins and family members this year! My friends have been working hard today and some probably slacking hard but we are going to meet up another day anyway so I will still be so happy! haha. This year, went to cousin's house at Harbourfront there and watched Tv, chatted. Then, my cousins and I headed to Vivo with the intention to get Christmas Present but Vivo is so crowded today! the place to go when there is a public holiday - vivo. That's what on EVERYONES mind! Miny Toons was so packed that it was only one way traffic within the shop. Lazy us decided not to join the crowd and just walked around... walking back home with nothing. But it was fun seeing the prices of some things. Extravagance is not the word for us today becaus we are kind of broke too! Then headed back to my cousin's house and watched TV again. Did not play mahjong today because we were all so bored of it already. Playing every week... it's becoming a phobia. haha. Reaching ten, as we were about to go home, my mum took out my birthday cake and they sang for me my birthday song and we ate the cake. This is the first time i think i ever celebrated with my uncle and aunt and all, hence, was very memorable. Of course, i have more celebrations coming up with my friends that I am looking forward too! haha.

Elizabeth and Yvonne have gotten a job at Sportslink at Kallang. Working with Xiangyi now so I guess you three will have a common topic to gossip about next time! your colleages and bosses! haha. Easier for me to visit too... One time visit three. Also, can patronize the shop where three of my closest friend are working! Work hard! Though it might be tiring but the money at the end is what your working for! haha

And lastly, I would like to once again say THANK YOU to all those who remembered my birthday and had wished me Happy Birthday. I am so happy to have known you guys - Closest Friends, Classmates, Band mates, NCO friends, Eastern European Friends and even some whom are in my school but I never really got to talk to you... Stayed at home the whole day today. Doing what? Youtubing and reading my story book! Just realized i have 6 bookmarks. Don't know how come I've got so many either.. Weird.

haha. birthday is approaching in like a few hours time. This year, i guess my birthday will be a little more quiet. haha. Tomorrow is Hari Raya Haji and all the Moons and Starrs are I guess working because i heard they will have extra pay or something like that. Gino is abroad and Queen Yvonne and Princess Elizabeth dunno whether they have job or not. Parents will be home so I guess my birthday this year would be celebrated with them! haha. Not too bad either la I guess :) Heard mum is going to cook something nice for me tomorrow! Great :D

Went to my final concert (i suppose) for this year yesterday which was the First Toa Payoh and Pierce Symphonic Band Combined performance at SCH. Good job Qianying and Aloysius! haha. Was also glad that I could catch up with quite a few of my NCO friends and to see Qianying after a long time! Still as funny and becoming a little rough already ar you... haha. Enjoyed my time there! Oh ya.. hoped u guys liked the gift to you!

Now do i realize that there are really many people's birthday during December and near mine! No wonder Yanting wants a December babies outing thing! haha.

Hmmm.. Concerts attended were the Tampines Junior College Concert to support Weining (who called me to go so last minute!) and also the Junior College Band Festival Concert to support ChianHuey! GOOD JOB GUYS!! not easy to play those pieces that you guys have played and it must have been through much hardwork and effort before such results were possible i guess! you've definitely brought me music to the ears! The JC band Fest was definitely an eye opener to the JC bands in Singapore! Their standards and ability to master the instrument are defnitely a level higher than that of Secondary School bands. but of course, there are some Sec Sch bands which are on par with them i'm sure! (",) haha. seeing so many concerts have indeed made me want to be in the band right now and start playing all over again. Playing infront of an audience and feeling the sense of satisfaction which i have not felt since this year's SYF. Sudden urge to join a band and go back for band now! Tomorrow will be going to support my NCO friends in the First Toa Payoh Concert. All these concerts are really burning a hole in my pocket as my father says. haha

Nowadays when I am back home, I will always be youtubing and like chatting. Never touch ANY story books or exercise as I tell myself to. My aim hopefully will be to complete my 1000 puzzle set which has been left untouch for a very long time and to think i bought it 5 years ago! I MUST COMPLETE IT NOW! and also, I have to exercise and do skipping to grow taller because i am only a miserable 165! and, i have to read story books! buy and never read... that's my problem!

Elizabeth and Yvonne are going to have job hunt again tomorrow! Good Luck guys! hope to hear great news :D

.: Bad throat :.

Feeling rather sucky now because of a stupid cough I am down with. My throat is so itchy and irritating. No medicine have since been useful. Darn. And I'm also down with flu. Everything is coming to me all at once. Result of it all : the lethargic me.

Was informed about my posting result for the first three weeks (i think) for the Junior College we are posted to next year under the PAE thing. Am posted to Victoria Junior College. I don't know whether to be happy or sad. Something that I have hoped for for last year has come true but am abeit, no, i think is, VERY MUCH, apprehensive about it. Don't know why also. Just not comfortable into going into a new environment alone. ya.. new friends will come but it takes time too.This, undoubtedly added on to my rather lethargic mood. Am quite shocked with some of my friends in my class and of other schools. The system's a little weird I would say but whatever... we are all going to take the same A Levels Paper in the end.

.: 2e2 '05 Chalet :.

Just came back from chalet. This chalet was abeit different than the previous ones we had because for the first time, we had a double-storey chalet apartment and this time, lesser than normal turned up. But one thing that remained constant was the fun and joy we have together I would say! Due to all the holidays, appointments and also jobs that many 2e2-nians took up during this period, they could not turn up! Could not blame them also actually because every one is so busy with finding work to do. Seeing so many people working makes me want to work also. Hearing the mundane things they have to do and the tedious work done, I can only tell them 'at least you've had this experience!' As for me, haha, I doubt I be working anyway :D

We played cards in which Yvonne won so much and can really be the Gambling Queen, mahjong (didn't know rental nowadays was so expensive!) and watched DVD (thanks to Elizabeth who brought the player. Would not know what we would do without the player!) haha. Chatted alot and caught up. Had a lot of fun though i kept losing in playing cards and mahjong overall. Sleeping was minimal for everybody I guess but i would consider myself to be one who has slept relatively more than the rest since I love sleeping and can sleep almost anywhere! :D

Went to Escape on the second day! The weather these few days was just so depressing la! Rain, shine, rain, shine, rain, shine. This sequence occured for almost three times while we were at Escape. But the time there was fun! Did not go to a theme park with a class before so it was a good experience and outing! The rain was just so depressing that we were not able to take the racing thing and some rides had to be stopped in the midst of our queue! make us waste time!

2e2'05 was a fun class and of course we would never forget one another because very much we are alwyas with one another! (",)

.: Busy week :.

this week was a real busy one indeed! going out almost everyday ever since i came back!

went to watch the performance of Xinyi! her 'the Right Step' ballet performance! what can i say. thier footwork and movement are just almost perfect (at least to me) and the way they dance and strut their way across the stage as if they are floating was a nice sight! Of course, BRAVO Xinyi! never really see her dance except in school but this performance had definitely brought a whole new meaning of 'ballet' to me :)

Also, went out with Elizabeth, Yvonne and Gino before everything started. Walked in Marina Square and then watched 'Enchanted'! it is a great show i must say! One that I really liked watching even after it ended! the songs are so catchy and nice that we started humming and singing them slightly after the show ended. It has also been a long time since we 4 went out and it was indeed fun! The transport home after the ballet performance was disaster by the way. Who would have thought it would take us 2 hours to get home because of the bad transport or rather bad luck with Taxis at that part of the day.

Now, its time to upload the pictures of my Eastern Europe trip... but before that, take a look at the facts stated below :)

Some fun facts that i found out while I was there were
1) Never be surprised seeing girls which are 1-2 head taller then you over that because half of their female population are so.
2) Dogs are allowed to go shopping INTO the shops with their owners! so a dog might just come sniffing your toes when your trying a shoe out! haha
3) Most of their eyes are stunning blue and its nice to see so many people with such eyes/ especially when you do not get that in Asian countries or in Singapore for that matter! haha
4) Shops close at 5pm during winter (all should know this)
5) Even guys in good looking suits might be a pickpocket! BE CAREFUL!

.: My Eastern Europe Trip :.

Basically, it was about 12 days long. Hence, I am not going to blog about the daily events and try to keep it as interesting and as captivating to the readers mind ;) haha.

The flight there was in total about 12 hours long. on the 22nd, i had to wake up at 4am in the morning to catch my flight which was at 7am plus. I went in a tour group which saw 21 of us (including our tour guide, Johnny). I had never gone abroad in a tour group before, hence, didn’t know quite what to expect. To tell the truth, I was expecting a lot of older people like grandpa and grandma but to my surprise, it wasn’t so! there were 6 children and 14 adults. all of us clicked well together in the end haha. Took Qatar airlines, (sorry for telling Gino and Eliz it was Quantas because i mixed them up) haha. Flight from Singapore to Doha (transit terminal) was 7hrs long and flight from Doha to Berlin was 5hrs long. So it was kind of a dread to be in the plane for 12 long and seemingly, never-ending journey. But once we arrived Berlin, I began to love the atmosphere. The temperature was cold.. below 10 degrees when we arrived at Berlin and i thought to myself... "hooray! cold whether again!" because the last time i actually experienced it was in Shanghai 2 years back. haha.

We went to many places in Eastern Europe and to 6 countries/cities in total in that 12 days i was there. From Berlin, to Dresden, to Slovakia(Prague), to Poland, to Hungary and lastly to Vienna. Driving from place to place, changing hotels every two days and experiencing different weather as we heading on, we crossed mountains and fields in the coach-our second home seriously. Some of the journey were as long as 11 hours and ya.. time on the bus was fun too!

New Friends were made! 4 of us - Tunn Yuan (cedar girls,sec4), me (sec4), Nicole (dunman high IP, sec2) and Jackie (Hwa chong, sec1) became very close friends and we walked together while sight seeing, after performances, sat together in the coach, played games together, drank Champaign together, shared things with one another and talked together. We even had a snowball fight with each other! we had so much fun together over at EE. We also told jokes to one another and secretly gossiped about some people and sharing what we bought after shopping! Haha. It was so much fun! Of course, the Suan brothers - Suan yi and Suan Yang whom were interesting people and the latter one was a cute little bear look a like. haha. We all talked with the adults of course. they didn’t feel strict but all were nice, gregarious, heart-warming and so kind. Jackie's mum always offering food and paying for our drinks at one meal, the intellectual talks and life experiences and all the jokes told by jackie, Tunn yuan, nicole and thier parents! haha! so much laughing and all! went with my aunt whom i abandon sometimes while she was taking her marvellous pictures. she is a superb photographer! lol! and also may jiejie (as she likes to be called) and alfred (her husband) - the sweetest couple i've ever seen. after 15 years of marriage, they feel like newly-weds! not to forget, david and riesal. always sitting with them at meals sometimes and being bullied by riesal! We all became like a family as the tour went on, looking out for each other and sharing things with one another. This is what you get when you stay together and go everywhere together (eat, shop, toilet etc.) after 10 days – a form of familial touch and bonding.

The hotels there were okay. the nicest one was the one in Hungary. The best hotel there! really posh and great. Not much television shows to watch and I really wanna learn their language everytime I switched the TV on because then, I will be kept occupied. Hence, I ended up watching CNN everyday and MTV or VIVA (thier MTV) sometimes . haha

Berlin - main attraction was the Berlin Wall. After studying so much of it in history, how Berlin was divided into two parts - East and West Berlin where both sides had led contrasting lifestyles and some oppressive leaders on one side, it was great to actually be there to see the actual Berlin Wall that had made this division and sustained this division in its years of quarrels. Half of the Berlin Wall has been knocked down so only parts are left standing. But on the contrary to how many would have perceived it to be a strong, tall and mighty wall of division, it was not. It was just about 2.4m high and with of probably 15cm? not too sure of the details. but it was not easy to cross over because of the many obstacles laid like barbed wires, in the past. But now, the Berlin Wall is all graffiti painted and some political cartoons are real nice to see and depict! haha

Also, at Berlin, we went to some places for sightseeing and all. We also went to the Reichstag Building. If you history students remember, Hitler burnt the Reichstag building to help him rise to power as he had accused the communists of doing so and chased them away. Sly and cunning Hitler committed suicide in the end and we saw the exact spot where he had died.. which is now actually a car park.

Moving on to Dresden, a stop for lunch and again sightseeing only. One thing about all the sightseeing places in Eastern Europe is that of all the different places we visited, there is a unique quality and a very superb view of it. They are all distinct in their own ways and were created and built in a very fine and well-thought manner. They carry alot of history that every placement tells a story and a fact. (pictures above!) oh ya. with history that I didn’t learn... haha. Didn’t pay much attention to it :P

Then, we headed to Prague. There, it was shopping and sight seeing again! oh ya. Things in EE are expensive! Some jaw-droppers are like a macdonald meal costing $10 when in Singapore its only $5.45. A candy floss that was $4. The water cost more expensive then the coke and a bottle of pringles was $5, twice more than in Singapore! Prague has a lot of pick pockets so I had to be careful. Being careful is so troublesome sometimes. Then I watched a Violin ensemble in Prague. It was in a Cathedral so the atmosphere was a lot different. I knew some of the pieces because there are band versions and they played really well with the Cembelo. Headed to eat dinner with some of the group people and then cabbed to hotel!

After being in Prague for two days, it was off to Poland. Up the mountains, it was snowing and it was unexpected snow actually because my ever-funny and concerned tour guide said that the last time when he brought a tour to EE, it didn’t snow at all throughout the journey. So of course, we were happy, ecstatic and everything because it was SNOWING! Haha. Stopped at checkpoints and went down where we had our snowball fight and May hit me until I fell. Embarrassing but FUN!

At Poland, we went Sightseeing again and experienced walking in the snow, sometimes, amounting to a mix of snow AND rain and when it was heavier, it became a blizzard! Sometimes, snowing is not fun at all I would say! We went to the salt mine which is basically a mine where everything inside was made of salt. Magnificent. you can draw a parallel to the jewel mines or what in Perth and underground mines. Also, watching another Violin ensemble playing “the Four Seasons” – 12 movements in total, great performance yet again! And there, I was mistaken for a Japanese when one of the musician said ‘arigato’ to me when I opened the door for him, seeing that he was carrying so many things!

The most interesting stop and long-awaited stop was the Concentration camp. From Prague to Poland was about 11hours journey and of course it was tiring.
But we watched Shindler’s list on the way there and it was sad. How the Jews were actually exterminated by the Nazis. In history lesson, all that we learnt was “sent to concentration camp” but never did we go in-depth. This time, to see it for myself, It was really an experience I would never forget and a heart-wrenching one. The tour inside the camp, “Auschtigg” (I think), where the guide told us the different ways of torture – starvation, labour, squeezing in a small room, showed us the clothes, the baggage and the hair and all the other things found on the children, men and women at that time (they are really the possessions of the Jews at that time) and telling us where they were killed, how they were killed, were they slept and all. It was definitely sad. Makes you want to hate the Nazis even more actually and heightens your sympathy for the innocent. Very few pictures available because we can’t really take pictures in the place. Going to the exact same piece of land where the Jew were tortured and gassed to death was really a experience one must have. One thing that struck me the most was a picture which showed children holding hands and with caption “on the road to death” (above you can see it). Children – dead. It was sad indeed. Also, the Nazis were so out of their mind that they shaved the Jew’s hair to make mats etc. to sell, utilising every part of the Jews and they even experimented on women and children in which most died. Taking the gold teeth of people to sell for money and by tricking the people to bring all their luggage along into the death camp by telling them that they are going for resettlement, lastly, to only confiscate and sell their things for their own money was a ruthless act. It was really saddening.

We headed onto Hungary, Budaphest after 2 days in Poland and there, we were treated to a Hungarian meal with musicians and dancers all to the 21 of us. IT was a fun night seeing the adults and some of the teenagers dance and did funny stuff. Then sight seeing again! No more snow here but the weather was great still. We had our own VIP cruise and the 4 of us stayed at the deck, talking about life, breathing in the scenery and just enjoying ourselves a lot while drinking Champaign in the cold weather. It was a nice night!

Travelled to Vienna, the final destination of our tour. On our way there, we stopped at a Factory outlet. It was like a race against time kind of thing because we had to shop the whole of the factory outlet which was HUGE! (can be drawn a parallel to half the size of ¾ the size of the entire EXPO arena, inclusive of ALL the different halls) of course, nobody really managed to shop the whole area. Was rushing to shops we would like to go in that 2 hours. Most of us gave up eating lunch to have time to shop more. Ended up buying an Adidas jacket and a shirt. Though it’s a Factory Outlet, the things there aren’t necessarily cheap.

At Vienna, was again shopping and sightseeing. As my aunt and I had extended our tour, we had 2 days more in Vienna than the rest so we took out time walking around and pin pointing places in which we must come back and buy things. I spent most of my money in Vienna buying musical things for my friends and Mozart Chocolates and yummy food. Haha. The group had only 1 day in Vienna and hence, again, they were rushing. We went to the Christmas Market and then to a concert, an orchestra – violins, piano, flutes and clarinet, not really a full orchestra. Again, it was nice. That’s what you get when you spend $100 plus Singapore dollars for a performance. Haha. That night, we all gathered in Johnny’s room, drinking wine and playing cards and just giving the trip a good ending. The next day when they left, we took a picture and was kind of sad that my tour group is leaving. Felt lethargic that entire day and forlorn. It was only my aunt and I in a foreign country. But we enjoyed ourselves still. Buying a lot of things, taking their MRT (which I’m proud to say, am familiar with now) and going to visit in the woods of Vienna – Mayerling. It was nice. Also, we watched a final orchestra… this time really orchestra. It was the Vienna Mozart Orchestra and it was superb. The horn player disgusted me slightly though because he actually drank back his own saliva from the pipe. Yikes. But it was nice and great playing!

After that, byebye Vienna, Eastern Europe and then headed back to Singapore.

In whole, the trip was fun, made new friends, had much laughter and learnt a lot. I guess we are going to have a Christmas gathering as the adults might have proposed and we will stay in contact. The trip to Eastern Europe was enriching and a good life experience. Isn’t that what travelling is all about? Enjoying, breathing in the smell of a foreign place and remembering the magnificent layout ahead of you. Of course, not taking things for granted and enjoy the privilege of going to places some people yearn to go to.

When I reached Singapore airport, a happy surprise greeted me! I saw my best friends, Elizabeth, Yvonne and Gino waiting for me to welcome me back at the airport! Gosh! That was unexpected because I had told them that I was going by Quantas and never did I knew they were so resourceful that they actually called my brother to check out the details of my arrival! THANKS SO MUCH! Their presence was the best welcome gift back for me I can say! I was very touched! To think it was Gino’s idea. Haha.

That’s why I always say, friends are very important to a person! While away, I will not doubt that I do miss my friends, family and also my band and my section! Could not go for band camp was rather sad but at least I knew it went well I guess. Don’t give up in what your trying to do. Step up because you guys are in a crucial stage now!

Am again very thankful for my friends welcoming me back so again, THANK YOU GUYS J

I am going to start my blog from now on! it's revived! I will try to use good english as much as possible for the benefit of english-learners (which is almost everyone in Singapore!) haha.

Starting to blog again after like close to a year is different. What made me start is because I am currently too bored at home! so the first post will be on my Eastern European triP! watch out for that!

its been a very hectic week.. test after test and 4 days more of test out of 5 days next week... CCA orientation... said the same thing over 10 times for the sec 1s when they came to visit the band! this year is passing so quickly up to now.. and i guess its because i have been kept very very busy... both band and school work.. wanting to achieve great results in both aspects is sure no easy thing... but glad everything has been great as yet!
number of sec 1s recruited .. 30+ which is the most out of all CCAs.. and maybe the same as a few.. but its all pure hard work and luck that we got them! but it was sure to hear all this good news and with like the normal saying, with the help of everyone, everything can be done! so i believe it was great team effort... but this is not all.. still have SYF and still have musical exchanges and just a full line of events lined up!
peer leader... took 1e2... the sec 1s are REALLY getting more and more mischievious as the years past... nothing much to say about them.
school work.. just studying more now since its sec 4.
today mr fahmi gave a 15min speech and it was the MOST meaningful thing i think he has ever said.. touched me alot and i believed to a few othe band members too.. i think what he said is VERY true and i will always remember it and think about it constantly :D

school started...
emcee on day 1. its either gonna get me compliments or just critics. that is usually the thing that happens to most emcees. then also had perfomance and many things happened which led to somethings the next day that is not what everyone wanted. new batch of sec 1s are so huge. 9 classes and all are 40+ students! i took 1nt9 for tour around the school and there were 41 of them! what a bunch.
the next day had a fever and a infection at some area near my neck there... thought it was mumps but LUCKILY it was not. so im hopefully still recovering now lo.
friday (today) had to go to Singapore Conference Hall to do the tryouts etc. what an EVENTFUL day once again! it was beneficial to the band though but some people........ i guess what has to be said is already said :)
my new class.. .4e1... 26 people ( 1 less ) ... FORM TEACHER>>> MS TAN YEE KIM ( i dunno whether this is something to celebrate or do otherwise) but however, am treasurer AGAIN! i love my job in class . wahaha! okay.. ms tan a damn funny but also a little wierd woman. she stays near me... wonder what is she gonna say when she noes bout it. okay. thats all. need to go recuperate ;)

YEAR 2006 has come to a close! whatan eventFUL year it was this year.. thinking back about the many activities that has happened will really make one feel that this year was not a year that went by meaninglessly but rather, a year full of surprises and lessons learnt! haha.
lets see... my new class in 2006, 3e1. the class with the 'nerds' as some may call it juz by seeing the name. but one thing i am super proud of is that we managed to be seen as the cool class with the clever people and not really nerds! haha. maybe a few chess players :P we won sooooo many things this year in level and school challenges.. some great moments will be winning the national day performance thing (we practiced real hard for it okay and was the ONE AND ONLY upper sec class that articipated.. never see that coming from a first class ya) haha. and also, winning the most profitable stall for the SUNDAY MARKET!! we rocked in so many things... academic wise and outside classroom matters wise.i am so proud to be a 3e1-nian. haha. also, not to forget the many challenges i had to overcome having to take 9 subjects and i too, enjoyed every single lesson of my LITERATURE class, where there are only 6 of us taking lit and we are called LITETERANIANS. haha... our glorious moments cant happened without both MR shah and MRS lai who helped up at different parts of the year. also to our many subject teachers..

Peer Leader, becoming Vice-Head and head of 1 opt group came to me as a SURPRISE. i can say i was not really enthu about peer leader as i had my band to handle at one point in time.. but like i always say.... once given the job, do it well even if u do not want it as it has been given to u with faith and confidence! haha. peer leader was busy this year but fun at the same time!

Band,the place where most of the fun, sad, joy and all other emotions comes out of me and where i will have my deepest and greatest memories in!
the many performances at all the wierd places where all of us will get real hot and sweaty... the Stadium Green Performance, Bedok Family Day, Bedok Interchange... haha.. although it was real hot, we still gave our very best and we were well recieved! cheers!
one very very memorable evening of the band calendar would be Fiesta de Graduazione, our very own concert since a long time! this years' one was a sad one for me as i had to say goodbye to many great seniors of the band whom my batch are very very close too.... huijia, weining, xiaowei,clariss, carin, yining and the rest. u people made a lasting impression on the band and to us! thank you for that =D it was a great concert too which ended up with many tears flowing... but whats a new beginning if there is no ending! haha
Also, my next leap in band was the becoming of Band Major. was i prepared for it? not really i would say. all i wanted before handng down day was to remain as the librarian. the library which i did for the past 1 yr was something close to me as many ugly and nice things happened there. never have i thought of leaving that library job.. but when i was chosen as BM, all i could think of was 'oh no, my library!' but i was quite glad that it was in the hands of elizabeth as i know, she WILL do a better job than me. haha. yup, so i was quite shock.. the band is either gonna support or go against me. but a leader is there for a reason and there were many challenges i had to face and of course, there was a greater work load.. have i done enough as a BM i always think and i always answer back to myself 'NO!' and its because there is no end to how much i can do and till now, i hope that under the leadership of me and xiangyi, the band has improved. but thats just a hope... but in reality, hav we improved for what we are aiming for ? =D thats for u ppl to decide!
the next one would be my the 32nd BAND NCO camp! this is a once in a lifetime event and to me, i am really honoured and glad that i was part of it! no one and i mean NO ONE can ever forget what the band majors and drum majors from all the schools in Singapore went through in just the 5 days where we trained and enjoyed ourselves from 8am to 5pm EVERYDAY. i will never forget the waking up early and heading to CCAB every morning to have pracctive and seeing all the familiar faces which u have seen 10 hours ago. i will not forget playing ABba Gold and the other 10 pieces with the rest of the Band Majors. i will not forget doing marching formations.. i will not forget the drum majors performance, i will not forget the Band Majors perfromance and i will NEVER forget the lunch they gave us. but most importantly, i will not forget the memories i had there and the time i spent there with the people i made friends with whom i believe will be in touch tgt for a very long time. it was a tremendously great experience with the 5 days of being tanned and drenched ending with out very own Passing Out Parade. this is one thing that i wish i could do again!
the last big event of the band would be the Hong Kong trip. i think much has been said in my previous post abt the trip but one thing i would say about this trip is that it has really made me know who my BESTEST BEST friend is and how people really react to different situations sometime! but still, this trip is one trip that i will never forget and i would definitely wanna go back to HK with the band again and experience this whole roller coaster ride once more! thank u so so much YVONNE for being there with me all the time! u rocked!

this year would not have been how it was if it wasn't for all my friends! u guys were great and quarrels only make the relationship stronger! =D however, i would like to say how greatful i am to have friends like ELIZABETH, YVONNE and GINO! we 4 must have shocked some people to see how close we can be even though not all of us are in the same class! also, to Xiangyi, 2007 is an important year! and u have been a GREAT partner! always relieveing stress from me with ur huo po attitude! haha. thanks! and to all the other band mates, we have a great year ahead of us!

16th December - Rachel's BBQ and Carin's Birthday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARIN!!! Your a year older now and im sure you were damn touched by us. hope this year was a memorable birthday for yoU! all the best for your future JC life! ACJC shall welcome a cool, funky girl next year with open arms!
Next, THANKS RACHEL for the BBQ! I Cooked my own food this time round and set up the fire ok! was not lazing around like last time so its an accomplishment! but after ur bbq, don't really know why but i find setting up the fire is a fun thing! my love for playing the piano came back while at ur house too! just trying to practice that phrase of the Grade 4 piano score for like cloe to 2 hours! hmmm.. patience is the key i guess. oh ya. had a fun time there too and i hope u liked the present we gave you!

17th December - Rachel's Birthday and 2e2 '05 BBQ
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHEL! know u have to go through a lot both at home and in school but i think u can do it one! all those MILLIONS of tuitions u have will not help u unless u have the right mentality and i believe you do! so work hard for that wonderful result slip next year ya!

2e2 '05 BBQ - i would not really call it a class BBQ but rather the BBQ of these few groups of close friends (influencer, moon, star - some names we group ourself in... more collective and hence, easier to talk about) . okay. as these few days went by, the raindrops keep on falling as well. it was no exception for this day either la! i left my house at around 1130 am and it rained very heavily non-stop until 5pm. during this time, we played bowling and i got 125! its been a long time since i got 100+ cuz the most i can rmb was scoring around 80-90. was playing with the moon : zhihao, erwin, randy, junyan, wesley. haha. while the girls took another lane. after which, we all went out and it was not raining anymore and then decided to go cycling after a LONG discussion on whether to blade or to cycle for some of us. and after getting our bikes, we had to decide again who to sit with who cuz some girls cant cycle that well. end up, i still sat with yvonne tee like always! haha. ya.. then cycle cycle cycle, then we had to go do the BBQ pit. some of us had to go return the bikes cuz we were already exceeding the time limit. Hence, they decided that all the boys go return while the girls stayed to do the pit. and then, it rained VERY HEAVILY again and everything juz started getting bad fronm then on. i was cycling on some very wet grass and then someone called me. being unable to stop to listen, i cycle with one hand and talk and before i knew it, the grass was so wet and sleippery that while i tried to turn, I, fell one side with the bike on the grass. damn! only elizabeth noticed and she asked me "did u just fell?" and i was like "YA!" then i handed her my phone to talk to the person ... he was my band member asking bout some games thing. so 2 of my friends in the shelter offered to ride back and before i knew it, they were gone with the bike. i wanted to ride back la. felt so bad after that. then the rain stopped at our (those at the pit) side and we started the fire with the help of one uncle whom i believe has left home for a very good reason. he is very knowledgable and he helped us alot without eve us asking. so, i did alot of manual work at the pit being the only guy like helping set up the fire, setting up the tent with clarabelle, getting water etc etc. woah... but it was fun! okay, then while the fire was already ready, we were so hungry (yvonne, eli, shihmei, jessie, clarabelle and me) and the rest who went to return the bike was not back yet hence, we decided to bbq SOME food for ourself and end up finding undiscovered 'talents' like me being able to BBQ good satay and eli being able to BBQ good chicken! the rest of them being VERY GOOD helpers as well. haha. so we bbq bbq bbq and the rest were not back yet after damn long and we started to get worried and clarabelle called to ask and they say it was raining very heavily at their side there. so we decided to cook more for ourself and came up with a plan to eat and then cook for the unfortunate bike-returners. ya. so we cook and had alot of food and we eat... eat... eat... then, we saw a grp of ppl heading back and we immediately cleared the place and start bbqing (we were fearful of them saying us for being such greedy ppl) and then they some funny things happened between these 2 grps of us and turns out, they walked to lagoon to eat while we ate bbq foos and that was why they too, were acting suspicious. SO, we all ate and then took pictures and then eli and yvonne left to take taxi being accompanied by gino, wesley and me and when we 3 went back to the pit, the rest of the girls, too have left leaving only shihmei and yvonne soh. the rest of the guys were playing by the sea and then we all went into the tent to chat after that. talked abt our pri school life, our family, our ambition and whether our parents still cane us. haha. then wesley suddenly went crazy and went outside dancing and singing on the table. it soon rained and we all packed to go to Gino's house. we decided to walk by the new bedok camp underpass and damn! it was ISOLATED, FAR AND SUCKY! we walked for miles in the rain with all the things to carry and there did not seem to ba any sign of that stupid underpass. but luckily while walking, wesley spotted it and we went across. the next stupid thing was that we had to aslk back the direction we walked from at the other side of the road and we were really walking a complete U. then we walked for 2640m from the other side of the underpass to gino's house IN THE RAIN. and we FINALLY saw life.... the main road at bedok camp there. then i decided to go home and they went to Gino's house. it was a long long day and rainy day but it was sure fun. reached home at around 3.30 am. thanks gino, eli, yvonne Tee, yvonne Soh, shihmei, Jessie, Woan Yin, clarabelle, zhaos, yanzz, erwin, wesley, randy for making this day so fuN!

20th December - JurongVille Concert Band performance, XiaoJun's Bday, Yanjun's Bday, MY BDAY!

haha! its great to have so many people who has the same birthday as me! basically, it was a fun-filled day for me!
all the movie and all the birthday song sung to me by some of my band members at VCH! a memorable day.
thank you ALL who sent me sms-es wishing me happy birthday, those who called me to wish me ( chen chen[happy fren] , sokyee[good fren] - who sang me the bday song and leejin ) , those who drew cards for me, those who wished me on msn, and those who got me presents!
the 30 + people who chipped in for my present, liling rynna karen for ur present, xiaojun for ur present and card, weining and xiaowei who spent so much on my present and carin for ur chocolate. Those 30 + ppl are i think, eli, yvonne, gino, stars, moons, ain, peiying, oliver, chen chen, amanda, sokyee, yining, carin, xiangluan, rachel, xiangyi, lorraine, natalie, er... o dint have the list with me so i will edit this part and write in ALL ur names to thank! haha! THANKS ALOT YOU PEOPLE! UR GREAT! my band members, friends, classmates aLL! u've made my birthday a great day! and extra thanks to eli , yvonne and gino on collecting the money for my present! haha. oh ya...i got a nike bag, a mini water dispenser, cups, clip stand, slippers, and i think wallet and pencil case and most of all, deepest LOVE from u guys! thanks (",)

okay... the concert was nice. it was fun and enjoyable to both watch and listen!

21st Dec - 23rd Dec : Band Camp
whoo.. i think for the sec 1s and 2s, you people must have gained alot of experience from this camp upon doing all the preperation for ur individual departments. GOOD JOB! much has happened in this camp for me la. very beneficial camp to the band members and i think for the other part that happened to me... haha.. best not to be said :) but to those who know it, yes! quarrels indeed make friends closer. i finally got to tell u people some difficulties i have to face and some things that i can't do even if it goese to the extent of hurting myself. thanks * for telling me ur thoughts and make me known to what u all are thinking. i hope u too, will remember what i said and i know u will be there to tell me in the future too :D hope everything will turn out fine. all i do is for the band's sake but my friends are still, deep down inside, important to me. to *, finally i get to tell u my deepest thoughts on both our relationship and im so glad i have done that :) i hope u got touched and i was touched by myself too cuz i know it was a fact and i felt it but i don't tell anybody hence, juz to tell u how i feel is great! haha! best friends are important to ones' life :D

Marching video... made me think of my NCO. i wanna go back there!! those 5 days, will NEVER be forgotten! our band did well too in our marching video too ok! good job for first timers lo! :D

Hong Kong trip video was so sad case... i wanted to show the WHOLE 18 mins. spent so much time on it just to show 10mins of it. stupid computer..

been rather busy this few days... going for my band camp tomorrow and hope everything will turn out fine! will update on Rachel's BBQ, 2e2 '05 BBQ and those people i wanna thank alot for making my birthday such a wonderful day!! hee...

whOO! just came back from Tanjong Katong Concert! am exhausted cuz been walking since 12noon today all the way till 7pm and after the concert walk again! TK concert was great! i like the fact that the alumnis came back to help out with the whole concert and of course, not forgetting the presnt members own hard work. anyway, they played really cool pieces that i wish we could play like Oregon, Godspeed, Jungle etc. Like 'Jungle' by the way... such a clever composition. okay, then took pictures... many pictures with the two TK stars of the night for NCO-nians... Nicholas and Sijia. and they both are horn players hence, conclusion is that horn rocks but Hornists' rocks even more! haha. okay..anyway, took pictures with them tgt with nanchiau BM (yanting) and DM and Bowen's DM and er... one NCO saxophone girl, also with nicholas's twin brother - Kenneth. Saw Deyi there too but guess they went off quite soon to take pictures.
this 'gathering' for some of us, NCO-ians at Singapore Conference Hall really takes one back to the times during 32nd NCO! hmmm.. where we talk and eat and march and play on the field together! and during POP where all the pictures were taken. hmmm... WE MUZ HAVE A OUTING AGAIN!!! A BBQ MAYBE! haha. its gonna be so cool. lol.
anyway, went to watch with eli, yvon, xiangluan, xiangyi,rachel, and some sec 2s and darren. haha. but went to shop for presents first b4 that with eli and yvon haha. okay.. think thats all.. photos of today MIGHT be uploaded soon :D

saturday was a fun, fun day! went to Ms Liews house and play, play, play. We played 'pictionary' and then 'monopoly'. sad case. we played 2 rounds of 'pictionary' and i won one only with my group (serena and ezkiel against ms liew and zhihao) but sadly, the first one the boys lost to the girls (which included rachel) oh ya... it was the liteteranians who went to her house! except for Grace who had a camp. haha. it was fun la... eat pizza cooked by her husband and chilled out at her nice house. no television but still feel very homey haha! and spacious with the nice sea view! this are some pictures we took!
